Solidly 3 stars. There were some great lessons sprinkled throughout and I liked the magical realism feel. Ultimately the plot fell short for me and the human connection self-discovery, and transformation are what carried me through.

This was a tough read. I probably should have DNF it. It was fine. I just liked Midnight Library a lot more.
