Listen, I love these people, they have my heart. They make me laugh as no one else can, and I can fully relate to limiting my sense of humor to sex jokes.
However, if someone asked me, what happens in this book? I´d be like: Uh... they go on a quest... and they keep on going to said quest.
I know that´s the whole ordeal of a fantasy novel, and that´s why I´m not a huge fan of the genre. But I am a big fan of TJ Klune, love the versatility of his stories and his characters. And Sam is a protagonist like no other.
The 3-star rating comes from the fact that this book felt like introductory to the rest of the saga, which is odd considering it´s book #2. Looking back, The Lightning-Struck Heart is almost like a prologue... a 400+ page prologue.
Now I kind of know where the saga is going... I think. I do hope book #3 picks up the pace, though.

Fantastic continuation of pure fantastical world
I thoroughly thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed this book. The continuation from Lightning Struck Heart into this novel was amazing. I'm so glad that I came back to the characters that I had fallen in love with through Lightning Struck Heart and will continue to read this series. Ramping the stakes up to the where they are in this novel only sets up the continuation into the next two. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys High fantasy action-adventure with great LGBT characters and some pretty hot m/m relationships.

These books make me laugh out loud at the awesomely puerile humor. Similar to Wolfsong, though, there's an underlying not exactly sadness but maybe wistfulness. I'm looking forward to the next, since there are a number of unresolved plot points...

Un coup de cœur. Drôle, avec des rebondissements supers et des personnages + leurs backgrounds qui a bien été travaillé. J'aime bien aussi l'originalité qui s'est dégagée par rapport aux schémas et préjugés que j'avais avant ma lecture. Mon feel good par excellence pour les journées déprime. (avis pour toute la série)
