This was a solid 4 until the super clunky dialogue in the epilogue the author used to update everything. Add that to the third person present tense throughout the book and I had to knock it down.

Overall, a very cute book. Like a cross between the movie The Holiday and the book The Unhoneymooners.

I thought this book was both heartwarming and wholesome.  Perfect for those seeking a feel-good read that leaves you smiling and dreaming of Christmas with loved ones.

3⭐️ A quick and cute story about friendship and finding love in unexpected places, that reads like a YA but the main characters are mature.
We started out with a frat bro keg party…and I was glad that it did not go downhill from there. Those dudes were kicked to the curb quick.
We get to see “a love letter to friendship” first and foremost here. I love stories that uplift women 100% without any drama, confusion, backhanded communication etc. Even though Holly and Ivy have cliche names, they end up adventuring out to a place they weren’t suppose to be, one to Hawaii and one to the backwoods of NY.
Even though this was cute, it wasn’t realistic enough in the time span of 1-2 weeks for these two couples to fall in love. There was a lot of experiences together to form attachments beyond platonic, but it seemed a bit far fetched in the timeline of things.

**Warning: jilted at the alter, cheating**

This was a cute Christmas read that I finished in just a few days. It had low spice (closed door) and was perfectly lighthearted for the Holiday season.

✨ I was so excited to dive into this book because the description sounded amazing, but it ended up being a bit of a mixed bag for me. 😊

The story leaned into the insta-love trope, and while I can see how it might work for some readers, it didn’t quite click for me here. Both female main characters find themselves falling hard and fast—really fast—in just nine days! 😅 One of them even starts her love story right after being dumped the night before her wedding, which made things feel a little rushed.

The writing style wasn’t quite my cup of tea, but I appreciated the third-person perspective—it just needed a bit more variety in sentence structure to really shine. At times, the sentences felt repetitive, starting with “She” or the character’s name over and over again, which made the pacing feel more like a play-by-play than a fully immersive story. I’d have loved to see more dynamic ways to show the characters’ emotions!

While it didn’t quite work for me, I can see how fans of whirlwind romances might enjoy this one. It had a lot of heart, and the premise was definitely intriguing. 💕

The Holiday is top 3 of my fave Christmas movies, so anytime I find a book that reminds me of it, I’ll read it. This was incredibly cute. Besties Holly and Ivy decide to swap their Christmas plans when Holly is dumped by her fiancée the night before their wedding. This leads Ivy to Hawaii and Holly to a secluded cabin where they find unexpected love. If you enjoy some good Hallmark Christmas cheese, it’s the book for you.

Thanks as always to NetGalley for the ARC.
