Exactly what I was hoping for from this holiday romcom in book form. Light, easy, slightly predictable and exactly what the season calls for.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE REFERENCE TO “THE HOLIDAY !” I love that movie and impulse purchased this book. It has maybe two similarities to the movie.
This book has all the worst tropes. Holly and Ivy are not like other girls. They are too cool to like the things that other girls like 🙄. Also their friendship is SO qUIrkY!!! They just get each other, okay!?!
Ivy’s character was reduced to the friend who is obsessed with sex. As in that was pretty much her personality. Holly is supposed to be perfect, but treats Ivy terribly in one of the last chapters. Also, every confrontation is solved within moments, including the one where Ivy confronts her best friend’s ex. It was just anticlimactic.
Any and all side characters lack depth. The conversations are wooden. The development of both relationships is rushed to the point that even for fiction, it is not believable.
