Tranquility by Tuesday: 9 Ways to Calm the Chaos and Make Time for What Matters by Laura Vanderkam
aurigae's review

Laura Vanderkam's time management books stand out for their fluid prose and pragmatic, effective advice. As in any such book, many of the tips are rooted in common sense, but Laura explains the rationale behind them and provides real-world tips for implementation. We all know that sleep is important - but Laura will remind us to account for how much time we actually need to wind down and get ready for bed. Many readers of this book will be familiar with the idea of weekly planning - but Laura will tell you have to do it will, without (necessarily) buying a fancy planner. I finished this book feeling empowered and motivated, as well as slightly sheepish about my inferior productivity.
(This is an unbiased review. I don't know the author personally. I keep calling her "Laura" because I've been reading her books and blog for so long that I feel like I do.)

Really enjoyed this as a practical way to help "get my shit together". Looking forward to revisiting a rule each month for implementation.

Tranquility by Tuesday is not a time management book. It may be described as an guide to prioritizing and organizing time to accomplish goals. However it offers its techniques in a very practical manner recognizing that plans need to change as urgent matters arise. It offers techniques to deal with demands and still work towards achieving goals.

I heard about TRANQUILITY BY TUESDAY when Laura Vanderkam was a guest on What Should I Read Next with Anne Bogel. I was not looking for a new book on time management – in fact, I've been intentionally trying to relax in that area, making strides to remember that my days aren't graded and productivity isn't the only measuring stick. But when Laura started talking about the book, I thought it might be different, and it was.
Laura lays out 9 "rules" for us, but even she says you don't have to use the word "rules" if you don't like (and I don't
