Ahh, this made my gay heart sing ✨ It gave Heartstopper energy but took me by surprise as it was by a Japanese author! I just don’t expect Japanese literature and/or manga to be LGBTQ+ friendly so 🥹 I loved Tomoko (Hiroki’s mum) and her gentle, nurturing nature throughout. I definitely recommend this to anyone who’s a fan of the Heartstopper series, but also to anyone who needs a gay, heartfelt pick-me-up 🥰 Big love! 🏳️🌈

Uh, lady, I'm pretty sure your son is gay.
Honestly, I was on the fence about this one. I bought it at a discount, and my expectations were low. Now I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series.
I loved the wholesomeness of it. This is what a supportive parent looks like.

This was cute! Kept waiting for something to happen, but it was mostly the same story throughout. The mom’s inner dialogue was the real highlight of the book. Curious what we’ll learn in volume two!

oh that was so sweet and heartwarming. im a little miffed about the dad but it now makes a lot of sense to me why the manga is in the format of her letting her husband know she thinks their son is gay. she wants him to be supportive and also continue to see him the same way he always has.
man, the amount of love she has for her sons is phenomenal too. she likes to tease but she never pushes their boundaries. she knows how far she should go and acts differently to better suit the needs of her sons who aren’t the same at all.
the little brother too! i love him. he’s quietly supportive and swoops in when it looks like his big brother is going to be pressured into something he isn’t ready for yet. that’s the best kind of sibling relationship.
the humor in this was the right amount of silly to really be genuine. i think many forms of media that are marketed as comedy always do too much, but this? it was perfect.
can’t wait to get my hands on vol 2! this is a 5 star read for sure (:
