“A rural country road. No cell signal for miles. A terrifying game of cat-and-mouse. By the time Laura and Olivia notice the headlights tailing them through the hills, it’s too late. What seems, at first, like a case of road rage quickly unfolds into a heart-pounding chase—and a battle for survival.”

I’ve been craving a good thriller recently. I read a lot of psychological mysteries and I found my brain needing more cut-and-dry, fast-paced action.

This definitely delivered. It’s intense, jarring, and grips you tight until the last page.

What I liked:
  • fast action sequences, interesting atmosphere, and a couple twists I didn’t expect.
  • a very close and unique bond between the two main characters
  • real-life scenarios that made my skin crawl (taking a moment to add a TW for SA)

What I didn’t care for:
  • although it’s a thriller, there’s a few times I felt like the description slowed down the book. While I could clearly picture what was happening, some of the over explanations were sloooow.
  • a few times, the word choice kept reverting back to the author’s favorite words or saying the same thing again multiple times in one paragraph.
  • a few portions of the plot weren’t believable to me (the villains were TRULY bad for the sake of being bad people).

Overall, this is still worth the read and it fun to blow through on a lazy weekend

So much potential!!! Unfortunately it did not reach it. For it to be a thriller the pacing was very slow and most of the book was just Olivia’s internal monologue which was very boring. The plot twist was good but that’s about it.

Holy moley!! This book just throws you straight to the wolves. If you are looking for the definition of a page tuner, this is it right here! Thank god I never had snacks otherwise I would have stress ate them in less than a minute!! The pacing in this book is perfect. It’s tense, it’s suspenseful and yet again Noelle manages to bring a pretty serious issue to our attention without it bogging down the story. Like many great thriller/horror novels out there, Run On Red is another book that proves you don’t need an obscenely huge cast of characters to tell a good tale!! So excited for the next book by this author!

4.5 stars

Incredible! Read it in one day — very fast paced. I don’t read many thrillers, but this is by far my favorite one I have ever read.

I really did enjoy this book. I read it over a couple of hours. It kept my interest. I was excited to see where the story went. I feel like I didn't have time to really fall in love with any of the characters. I feel like I learned about all of them towards the end. I kept asking myself what I would do in this situation, and I never really came up with an answer. I am very much like Olivia as I love true crime but I don’t know how I would have handled that situation.
I also felt like the beginning of the book was very fast paced, a lot kept happening and I was very excited to keep going. I was very excited to find out why everything happened at the end, but I did feel like the end was rushed. I reached the last chapter and didn’t even realize that it was the last chapter. It kind of left me feeling like.. “That was it?” Overall, it was a very good read and I was happy to be back to reading my thrillers since I have been reading so much romance. I do have Noelle H. Ihli’s book Ask Andrea on my TBR and I am very excited to read that as well.

4.75 stars. WOW. This book had me hooked at page 1 and kept me hooked until the last sentence. What a crazy ride. I did guess a few of the twists, which is why I’m not doing a full 5 stars. Overall, I recommend and I’ll definitely be reading more from this author!
