Such a good series, not too graphic and so invested in what is happening with Abigail. Huck and Laurel are sweet and who does not love the dog and cat. Anyway, not much to say other than I will continue to read this series.

Unsatisfactory endings of our big bads

I'm not so sure about this. My rating is mostly for the story as a standalone and how fast it was for me to get through this .. but it's the 4th book in the series and regarding this whole plotline it's still way too repetitive and we still have the same questions from day one. The next one needs to move things forward by a lot to start making any sense.

I struggled to get through this, the 4th in a series i had otherwise loved. There is also a completely unexpected
pregnancy loss.

I could not connect with the story. I felt the story was disconnected. I'm sure it comes together in the end, but I found I really didn't care about the ending.

You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti
Laurel Snow #4

Dark, disturbing, despicable killers to catch ~ Excellent addition to the series

What I liked:
* Laurel: head of FBI Violent Crimes team located in Genesis Valley, Washington, intelligent, eidetic memory, has trouble reading emotions, verbally direct, honest, likes things spelled out, concrete thinker, doesn’t experience emotions as others do, loves and is protective of her family, in business with her mother, pregnant and in love with Huck
* Huck: ex-military sniper, Captain in Fish & Wildlife, overlaps working with FBI and local police force, lethal abilities, loner, has PTSD, protective, good friend, protective, patient, loves Laurel and happy about the baby on the way
* Aeneas: Karelian Bear Dog, owned by and works with Huck, bear chaser, works in search and rescue missions, also might act a bit like a support dog
* Fred: Laurel’s rescue cat
* Remembering and revisiting the characters from the previous book…at least the ones I liked
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* The search for the escaped serial killer and wondering if Jason Abbott was killing again or if it was another killer on the loose
* The twists, turns, and red herrings
* Wondering what difficulties Abigail Cain – Laurel’s half-sister, Rachel Raprenzi – podcast reporter and Huck’s ex-fiancé, and Tim Kohnex might pose in the next book
* How Zeke Caine was dealt with – the father of Laurel and Abigail
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Having to wait for the next book to be written so that I can find out what happens next

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington – Zebra for the ARC – This is my honest review.
