I enjoyed this book. The ending was predictable, of course, where the best friend Frankie finds out about Anna and Matt's secret relationship before Matt died and has a complete and utter breakdown where she threw Anna's journal, which had recordings of their secret relationship, into the ocean.

Just as a side note, if my best friend did that to me, I'd scratch her eyes out. But of course, in the book, Frankie and Anna, get back together after their falling out.

But overall, it was a good book and I really wished that Matt and Anna got together in their lifetime. Still, I liked that there was an inclusion of another love interest for Anna. Sam does seem like a very nice guy and his relationship with Anna was really sweet. It was lovingly cultivated and beautifully written and when they finally do "the deed", I thought it was a beautiful culmination of their relationship. I sure would like a sequel about Sam and Anna, just sayin' :D

This was a good book, the only downfall was how ditzy the best friend was. It seemed like she was constantly messing up her words. Other than that, this novel captured being a teenager in the midst of grief.

In the first 100 pgs of this book I cried three times. Something tells me that that single fact makes this a really good book. Not only that but I felt a real connection with the characters. I felt their pain.

The summer romance between Anna and Sam was quick and passionate... just how summer romances should be.

I loved this book.

3 1/2 stars. Cute, but nothing out the ordinary.

this book was charming, very juvenile undertones but I get it.. however the book really invoked the giddy feelings of falling in love and what love feels like when you’ve never felt it before.

I enjoyed the characters very much and I felt as though it was full of meaningful messages that sometimes are missing from young adult literature.

This is going to make me sound so old, but this reminds me of some of my own beach adventures from when I was younger. It was just a nice, cute read with some strong emotion behind it. I really enjoyed reliving that sense of care free teenage love.
