Oh, my heart!
I will definitely be checking out more books by Micalea Smeltzer after this. This was an easy read and really cute book. The forbidden love trope between Dani and Lachlan, yes!

I was super excited to read this one, but unfortunately, it fell flat. I don't mind longer books, but this one had so much filler material that didn't really do anything to advance the story. The conversations between the couple got so repetitive that it was approx. at the 75% point that I lost interest. I didn't even care if the main characters ended up together anymore. I forced myself to finish it because I had already invested too much time.
Also, is it just me, or were both main characters kind of dull? Ansel was my fav BY FAR.
One last thing, I'm not a fan of that super random relationship that formed at the end. I liked one of them a lot and found the other one really annoying (sorry for anyone who's a fan of that character), so this kind of made me dislike the book a bit more lol.

This book was sweeter than I anticipated and I didn’t mind the dynamic of teacher and student. They’re love story was very interesting and pure.
Meeeeeeehhhhh. I really didn’t like this one. It was way too long. I didn’t feel the connection between the two main characters at all. Dani annoyed me. She was extremely childish. Skimmed that last 20% of the book. Giving it two stars instead of one because I was interested in how it would end, so it kept me engaged enough to finish.
4.5 ⭐️. Wow! I absolutely loved this book. It didn’t disappoint. It kept me hooked from the beginning. I loved how it explored Dani overcoming her trauma in her own way and overtime.
I adored the protectiveness sage had for Dani, because I love protective older brothers in books. Lachlan was so sweet and I absolutely adored him
