Chasing Him

Kennedy Fox

4.11 AVERAGE

Once again, my favorite super duo team, Kennedy Fox, has provided an amazing novel that I devoured cover to cover. I absolutely loved reading each of Bishop Brothers’ books in the past, and John’s was no different. For me, this book starts off as kind of a tear-jerker on how and why John receives his daughter, Maize. (Although, I did find it a little far-fetched that someone just dropped a baby off on a door step, especially a lawyer.) Overall, this was an amazing book that I really was able to fall in love with. This book drummed up all the emotions for me! It had tear-jerker moments, it had moments that made me want to throat punch someone, the steamy moments, hilarious moments, and so many more that made this such a memorable read. You can always count on the Kennedy Fox duet to bring it all to the table. Now, I can’t wait to get my hands on Jackson’s novel because I need more of the Bishop Brothers!!

I love all of these Bishop brothers but John just stole the top spot!

John is working long, hard hours at the family B&B when he opens the door to find that someone left a baby on his doorstep. He falls fast and hard for his little girl but is in desperate need of some help raising her.

Mila is in town visiting her grandparents when she is hired to be the nanny. Almost immediately, there is an attraction between her and John that you can just feel jump right off those pages.

I have been waiting for John’s book and I really enjoyed the story! Mila and John’s chemistry is amazing and I loved the way their relationship was fun, sexy and yet sweet. It was also great to see characters from the other books make appearances and that we get to catch up with them. I love the banter between all the Bishop brothers and as eager as I am to read Jackson’s story, I’ll be sad to see the series end!

Review to come!

4.5 stars!!!

John has declared himself as my FAVORITE Bishop brother. Who doesn't love a single dad?! I constantly admired him how he took care of Maize, especially since he didn't have much experience in the child department. Emily had me loving her more than I already did from Needing Him. And Mila was a lovable and nurturing heroine that I'm so happy Kennedy Fox brought into the Bishop Brothers world!!! Let's see if Jackson's story will top his twin brother's....

description

This was such a sweet story of a newly single daddy and his nanny. The unexpected happens to John Bishop when he is left with a surprise bundle of joy and a note on his doorstep. Shock and surprise is an understatement. Learning his new role is challenging and the need for help is becoming necessary. Leave it to Mama Bishop to find the perfect caregiver for him and her granddaughter.

Enter Mia Carmichael. While waiting for a teaching opportunity to come along she decides to take a trip to Texas to visit her grandparents and cousin. Little did she expected to be offered a job opportunity during her stay there. Why not make some money while waiting for that call right?

Meeting John was not what she had imagine. A hot, beautiful, stubborn, frustrating man. She is a strong, feisty, woman who tells John how it is when it comes to raising kids and causing him to become more intrigue of this woman who is taking care of his precious daughter. Their relationship begins to brew with tension and hesitation considering their situation and filled with banter that you cannot help but LOL and swoon. The clock is ticking...Mia's new role is temporary and that she is going back home soon. She gets in deep and as her time with John and Maize is coming to an end and her heart is torn. To take the career opportunity she always dreamed of or to stay and be with the family she has fallen hard for?

Another great book by Kennedy Fox, this is the third Bishop brother book, about John Bishop, and the fourth releases later this year.

I just love this series so much! This book makes me want to go back and re-read the first two. I just love spending time with this Bishop family on the ranch! I love catching up with them! This series has such a down home feel, and it makes my reader heart happy!

John is one half of the Bishop twins - and he's the more steady twin too. He runs the B&B at the ranch and he's got the smarts to go along with his looks! He's also a smoking hot single dad - who tries super hard not to fall for the nanny his Mama hired him to help out around the house and with his daughter, Maize. I FLOVE this couple so much, the attraction was there early on of course, but this book was more character than plot driven and it was all about seeing these two get over their personal hold ups and let themselves open up for love. It was beautiful.

I loved this book so very much!! It's a single dad and nanny book, set on a ranch in a small town, yes please! John had an infant left on his steps and now he is doing what he has to do to take care of his responsibilities. Mila is visiting her grandparents after she figures out that her best friend does not have the same feelings for her. John and Mila have chemistry but they deny it until they can't fight it. This story is sweet, funny, and filled with sexual tension. I was excited to read this book and it did not disappoint at all!

This specific video review will be included in the September 2019 wrap-up.

5+ Stars!!!

These Bishop Brothers are EVERYTHING!

Kennedy Fox is a writer duo for the books! (Pun totally intended haha) I completely devour every story they write. I knew that I would enjoy John’s book. I even knew I would love John’s story. What I didn’t know, is how MUCH I would love him. After finishing Needing Him, it was all but set in stone that the eldest brother Evan would be my favorite Bishop Brother. I should have known that John would over take that place.

John does not fall into the typical single dad trope but he’s a southern boy who’s been raised right and is SO SWOONY! He cares deeply for his child and will run himself ragged making sure his newborn is taken care of. In order to give his baby the best, he realizes he must hire a nanny.

After being friend-zoned, Mila takes a month away from her home to visit her grandparents in Texas. Her dream is to become an elementary teacher and what better way to help that then some experience as a nanny.

Watching John and Mila’s relationship was so much fun! Things quickly get complicated for the two and they have to tiptoe around each other before their feelings and attraction combust. I loved watching their push and pull, as well as the forbiddenness that was thrown in. Their banter about football was one of my favorite parts of this book. I was laughing out loud and saw so much of myself in Mila during these scenes!

This book left such a huge smile on my face and had me aching for the next book in the series! This is no surprise, as every other Kennedy Fox book has done the same thing.

I can’t wait for the last Bishop Brothers book! I’ve been waiting for Jackson’s story since I first met him. He’s the wild, reckless, boy and I just know we’re in for a treat! I’m calling it now that he will probably be my favorite brother in the end.

Please, if you haven’t read any Kennedy Fox book, don’t walk, run and grab up any one of them! They are so amazing, fast paced, and they will all leave you with a smile on your face!

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

5 “Swooning so hard over John Bishop” Stars!!!!!

Oh boy! John Bishop definitely gave Evan a run for his money. OMFG, I didn't know how much I would salivate over John. I mean I had some sort of inkling, but I was surprised at how much I would feel for this swoony and sexy as sin baby daddy. I'm still fanning myself over here at John's hotness. I seriously couldn't get enough of him and most definitely wanted more.

I was counting down the days until I finally had John's book. That cliffhanger at the end of Needing Him just made me that more antsy as to what was in store. Questions were definitely answered and things started to make sense. We find out how he became a single dad and got backstory into that. And I don't know about you, but I get weak in the knees over single dads. Seriously, heart eyes to infinity.

John, recently a single dad needs help. Though, his family is more than happy to help in any way they can, it isn't enough. Countless nights of getting little to no sleep is starting to affect John. It's been suggested that John should hire a nanny to help him out. He decides to give the woman his mother sent over a trial run, and see what happens. Little does he know, she's going to be quite the temptation.

Mila, a recent college graduate is in the process of filling out applications to start her career as an elementary school teacher. But first she's enjoying her time before that happens. And she decides to visit her grandparents in Texas. When there, an opportunity arises for her to help a single dad accommodate to his new role. Mila, not only wanting to take care of his daughter, Maize, but also finding that she also wants to take care of John as well.

Mila and John were so adorable. I couldn't get enough of these two. Their chemistry was off the charts. I liked how they became friends first and then progressed to something more. I loved the relationship between John and Maize, it was the sweetest. The way John took on his role as a dad without any reservations was everything. And Mila and Maize's relationship just melted my heart. These three really made my heart go pitter patter.

I'm definitely in a dilemma here. I honestly didn't think I could feel so much for another Bishop brother that wasn't named Evan. Damn, Kennedy sure is making this tough. And that's that Jackson's book is still left. Ugh, how do I choose? I gotta say, for now John and Evan are both 1, but I have a feeling Jackson and his cocky af attitude will most definitely have something to say about that.

*Tick tock* *tick tock* September needs to hurry the hell up, because I neeeeeeed Jackson's book right now!

“You deserve to be happy, and one day you’ll realize that, but when you do, you just might be too late to get the happiness you were after.”

With each book, these Bishop men keep getting better and better! I didn’t think it’d be possible to up Evan Bishop, but Kennedy Fox did it. I fell oh, so HARD for John Bishop. His quite demeanor, him in his new-found role as a dad, and the gentle, yet fierce way he fought and fell for sweet Mila. It all left me devouring another incredible Bishop Brother adventure!

“He’s fighting his emotions, and the longer he pretends the connection between us doesn’t exist, the faster his walls are crumbling down.”

I’m calling John and Mila’s love story the ultimate slow-burn of the century. I was legit squirming in my seat, holding my breath, anxious for these two to get together. The buildup is a serious force to be reckoned with, and ultimately made their coming together that much more special.

“I’ll never resent falling in love with you but letting you go is something I’ll always regret even if it’s the right thing to do...”

I knew I’d be emotionally in for it once I had tears come to my eyes within the first 10% of John’s story. There were SO MANY feels rolling off these pages! Between the slow-burn romance, the protective dad, and the sweet, swoon-worthy moments scattered throughout this book--it was impossible not to be emotionally invested. There wasn’t a single second I didn’t enjoy Chasing Him, in all his massive book size glory, to the fullest!
