i always find myself going back to this book no matter how many times i've read it. it's simple and easy to follow and does a great job explaining concepts of capitalism and how the system co-exists with everything in our daily lives. fisher does a great job at explaining how the world would end before capitalism does. i reaaaaally recommend it to everyone interested in learning about capitalism/social theory!!!

I can see why it has become a classic and it definitely feels like one to revisit (helped by its short length). The style is engaging, the arguments compelling, and the reference to popular culture unrestrained. Fisher demonstrates that critical theorists don't have to be boring.

I've taken a star off due to the lack of footnotes or bibliography, this was a continual frustration for me throughout.
