A rare gem. I can't say I'm usually that interested in mosses, but this little book is worth reading regardless. It teaches you some things about mosses, for sure, but mostly it is about how intertwined the thriving of vastly different species are in nature.
And yet, the true worth lies in Kimmerer's golden turn of phrase as she makes true connections with the phenomena she observes. When she adds emotion and meaning beyond the more dry scientific approach alone, making you appreciate the role a little tuft of moss or even we ourselves play in the whole ecosystem.
It is a beautiful read, very much recommended.
