Mack’s Marvelous Manifestations is a spin-off series featuring Brandon Havili, the younger brother of Donovan Havili from Jon’s Mysteries. It’s not necessary to read the Jon’s Mysteries series before reading this one, but know that there are character crossovers, and possible spoilers for Jon and Donovan’s story.
Be aware that Jon’s Mysteries and Mack’s Marvelous Manifestations timeline’s overlap. My best educated guess for the chronological reading order of the two series is as follows:
#1[b: Jon’s Downright Ridiculous Shooting Case]
#2[b: Jon’s Crazy Head-Boppin’ Mystery]
#3[b: Jon’s Spooky Corpse Conundrum]
#4[b: Brandon’s Very Merry Haunted Christmas]
#5[b: Mack’s Perfectly Ghastly Homecoming]
#6[b: Jon’s Boom Shaka Laka Problem]
#7[b: Mack’s Rousing Ghoulish Highland Adventure]
Title:[b: “Brandon's Very Merry Haunted Christmas (Mack's Marvelous Manifestations #1)” by A.J. Sherwood]

I loved this! It was sweet and sexy and I am wondering why it took me so long to read a non-heterosexual focused romance book? I am enamored with all the characters, and even though I have moved on to another book, I am thinking about Mack and Brandon and wondering how things will develop between them, and what is Jon and Donovan’s back story? And what about Mack’s family situation? I need answers. Obviously, I need to read more.
This was a quick read at only 110 pages. I did struggle a little in the beginning to follow who was with who and what was going on. Not sure if that was the writing or if my head just had to much in it and I wasn’t focused well on the story. Once I got past the opening where all the characters were introduced and kind of laid out – I really had a hard time putting this down.
I am already missing the characters, and wondering about them beyond what this book gave me, so I am absolutely going to download the other two books in this series:
Mack's Perfectly Ghastly Homecoming (Mack's Marvelous Manifestations Book 2) &
Mack's Rousing Ghoulish Highland Adventure (Mack's Marvelous Manifestations Book 3)
AAAAAAAANNNND – For anyone who has read this far – I see from reading reviews of this book on Amazon, that this is the SPIN-Off from Jon and Donovan’s stories! OK. I came in at the middle! So, it looks like there are four Jon and Donovan books that I should have read first:
Jon's Downright Ridiculous Shooting Case (Jon's Mysteries Case Book 1)
Jon's Crazy Head-Boppin' Mystery (Jon's Mysteries Case Book 2)
Jon's Spooky Corpse Conundrum (Jon's Mysteries Case Book 3)
Jon's Boom Shaka Laka Problem (Jon's Mysteries Case Book 4)
So if you are a ‘Start at the beginning’ kind of person – Maybe start with Jon's Downright Ridiculous Shooting Case (Jon's Mysteries Case Book 1) and move through those four and then move into Mack’s three books. I think this was why I was a little confused about who was who in the beginning.
Now I just need to get through the book I am currently reading so I can get back to these books!

Another series
This is the first book in this series that is a spin off of another. While I have read some in the second series, it took me a bit to connect the dots. However I think this book works as a stand alone. I found it humorous and different. Though it’s supposed to be Christmas themed, only the first chapter has anything to do with the holiday. Jon could have received the snow globe for any occasion and the story would work so I’m not sure it fits in the Snow Globe Christmas collection. I would like to see more stories with these characters; to see their relationship progress.

Haunted snow globes are what started this adventure, and I'm here for it!

Terrible. Copy and paste of Jon and Donovon characters. Gave these two "tragic backstories" but they didn't seem to care after meeting each other. It's not a Christmas story or a haunted story. It's a dull "Oh I'll be alone for the rest of my life! Woah is me! Oh look a man!" And that's their love story. Dull, blank cardboard boring. Waste of time reading this.
