Audiobook. Abandoned halfway through. I just couldn't get into the story. Narrator was hard to follow.

A fun and quirky adventure book exploring themes of identity and purpose. This world feels like a new tale with an old soul — using classic tropes in new and imaginative ways. It is as funny as it is gripping and you can't help but feel connected to the characters. The world itself is wonderful to wander through and explore, especially with the lovable family you follow.

I can’t wait to read this to my son! The intended audience seems younger, so it engaged a certain part of me, but not all of me. I did however, find myself laughing out loud at the purposeful irreverence (especially towards the beginning of the book) in the face of adversity and certain peril in this book.

Fantastic book! Great as a read-aloud. The boys loved it, but it was an entertaining story of the reader as well.

I didn’t love this book but I did like it. The characters are fun and interesting and his world has some level of intrigue. I have been reading a lot of really incredible fantasy lately so anything less than Gaiman is a slight disappointment. I will still for sure finish the series though!
