Honestly, only 2 stars for the smut and it was for the first half of the book. I love my taboo, I my smutty erotic books, this one felt seriously wrong the read. A dead mom? Not much of a slow burn build up? I also didn’t like Dominic and his hot and cold, this was one really hard to get into the actual story and I skimmed the second half of the book.

Ok I loved this, I do love a taboo story and I felt like this one was done so well! The spice was

I was so dubious about this book at first, I’ve read step siblings romance which I love but never a stepdad one. Initially I thought it would be past my comfort zone but as soon as I started it I was hooked. The romance and spice in this was perfection. The angst and build up to the point where they gave into each other was chefs kiss. I can’t get over how good the smut was❤️‍

If there is one thing Q.B. Tyler will deliver is a story with some taboo and a daddy! 😂

I really wanted to like this one but I kinda felt weird with it. Idk, it just wasn’t my story.

I still love the author and their books I just didn’t feel this one. And thats a me thing, nothing to do with her writing.

This. Book. Is. So. Good. It is the perfect freaking speed. This book is taboo as fuck in the perfect freaking way. The angst. The spice. PERFECTTTTTT. I love you qb

Taboo Romance (Stepfather/Stepdaughter)

Love Unexpected is a taboo (stepfather/stepdaughter romance). Seeing as I haven’t read a taboo story in a long time, I was excited to read this one. There’s just something so angsty and sexy about these sorts of books, you know? Unfortunately, this one didn’t really live up to my expectations. When I think of a taboo romance especially one as forbidden as a stepfather and stepdaughter, I think angst, slow burn, and chemistry. This book didn’t have any of that. One minute she’s his little girl crying at a funeral and in the next moment both were sexually attracted towards one another. It was like **POOF* here are my feelings let’s bang it out in the dirtiest ways! (Cringe). Don’t get me wrong, I love a dirty book as much as anyone but this one was over the top. I wanted the story to just back up and deliver the gut punching feelings that would normally be associated with these types of relationships along with a little fear and unease (in terms of the characters feelings). We just never get that. It was too much, too soon, and there was no grief or regret.

Another thing I didn’t care for was how EASY it seemed for these two. As I mentioned, books like these need ANGST. People SHOULD have been pissed that the Dominic “took advantage” of his stepdaughter when she was only 18 (and literally JUST turned 18) but it was shown to be easily accepted at the end. Um WHAT!?! That’s not realistic! I need realism in the books I read and this one was missing it completely.

Now, I get that many people are going to love this book and I honestly hope more people love it than I did. It’s clear that the author is a good writer and has many fans and I appreciate the time and effect she took to write this taboo treat. However, it just wasn’t my cup of tea and that’s OKAY. Not every book will be a winner for everyone.

If you personally like a quick as seamless taboo novel, then I certainly recommend this book to you. It’s HOT HOT HOT! I thought there was steam coming off my ipad when I was reading!

The cheesy dialogue and lack of plot in this really took away from it. I feel like if you’re going to go this taboo, you have to earn the dynamic, and it didn’t feel convincing to me. two stars, 1 bc i did want to finish it, and 1 bc smut.
