HOLY FREAKING MOLY THIS SERIES!!! *CHEFS KISS* Literally so amazing I can’t even put into words how much these books meant to me. My first read by this author was actually Black Skies Riviera and I was so captured by her words I had to read more. Finding this series and seeing how it tied in with my first read by her was just the icing on the cake. There are very few authors who can make you fall inlove with a character the way Catherine had me falling in love with Eve and Dante. It takes a lot for me to obsess over characters and story lines but these books have had me absolutely hooked since the beginning and I can’t wait to read more of the beautiful world Catherine has created. If you’re on the fence or not sure if you should take the time out and read this series just pick it up and go for it. The love Eve and Dante share is unlike any other. And his friendship with Joseph holy freaking cow I love them more than any sane person should love fictional characters. But seriously pick up this series and then pick up all the other books based in the glorious Santiago world you will not be disappointed.

Read but reviewed separately.

Hearts of Darkness
4.6 Stars

Holy Crikey. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Intense, action-packed, and hotter than not chemistry. I'm mad at myself for not moving this book up on my TBR sooner. It ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what is in store for the Devil and his Angel in the next book.

Hearts Desire
4.7 stars

Mind-blowing suspense. I love how this author is walking a fine line in regards to showing that not everything is black or white. Some people that are supposed to be good are bad, and some bad people, by society's standards, are in fact, good. This author is so good at this distinction that she even makes me question if my whole life has been a lie because I also would become Eve, consequences be screwed.

This was even better than the first. Looking forward to the next one.

Hearts on Fire
4.7 stars

Fantastic conclusion to this trilogy. The amount of suspense intermixed with steam was off the charts. These characters together were sparks. The way they fought and loved was fire. My heart hurt at what was discovered about Isabella as well as Anna.

I'm very happy to have discovered this author and this series. My only complaint was wanting more of a resolution about Anna and Joseph. Still a fantastic book

Good Mafia Read

Lots of twists and turns in this trilogy. Well written and a good page turner. Dante was typical Alpha , possessive and leads his army with an iron fist. Eve was the woman that tamed the devil. You could see these characters grow into their own as the trilogy progressed. I loved how Dante slowly softened toward Eve, but still had his usual rough exterior and Eve so easily stood up to him. Really good read, can't wait to get into the next books in this world

It’s definitely a series that has to grow on you. I didn’t immediately like it, but by the end I was invested.

3,5 stars. The Santiago trilogy starts with Dante Santiago kidnapping Eve Miller one night because he fell in lust one night over her whilst on a job to kill her father. And yeah, with that premise, the romance is as cliché as they come; I lost count of how many times I rolled my eyes. I don't think there's a moment I didn't cringe when Dante and Eve call each other 'mi alma', 'my angel' and 'my devil'. Eve is portrayed as a strong character but the ones that makes stupid decisions to drive the plot forward. Dante is the typical ruthless alphahole.

All the rant about the romance aside, this is a wild ride. The plot about the brother's feud in the first book, the hunt for the human trafficking ring, the double crossing betrayals between partners; that's what give this book life. If the romance plot, especially the dialogues and interactions between Eve and Dante, was done better, I think this would make an amazing five star read. All in all, still a great read.

Soft DNF for now. I'm just not currently interested in continuing at the moment.
