Wow, that was boring. But on the plus side, it's been an invaluable aid to dropping off quickly at bedtime! Do understand that this is a political satire, that it was, and possibly is still, highly relevant and that it needs to be considered in context, but I'm not prepared to waste any more time on it. It was fundamentally, a 200+ essay by an arrogant and unlikeable man (I refer the narrator, I know nothing about the personality of the author). Absolutely not for me.

I gotta say that I really loved this book when I was younger. Recently I re-readed it and I was not happy. The stiryline got completely detailed with so much stuff added that I cought the feeling of it being a fat book without much inside.

If I may quote another reviewer, Jonathan swift is a snarky, snarky bitch. And I love it. He's literal, he's hilarious, and he's got a point. This text is the epitome of satire, hidden in plain sight behind a completely impossible adventure story. This one is worth the read, even though I kept imagining gullible - I mean Gulliver, as Jack Black. Oops.

It was quite a nice book to read.
It is a satire, though I am quite sure that I did not notice everything. Actually, if it weren't for the introduction and notes, I would not have recognized a lot of things. But that is probably logical, since there are more notes than pages...

At first I was looking forward to reading this book, but ended up finding it boring. Although, I mainly think that this has to do with the mindset I had before starting this book. So, if you plan on reading this just realize that it isn’t for amusement if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s more of a political allegory by Swift.
