4.1 stars.
This was good.
I like that we got to see Killian get his own girl.

I think he’s such a sweetheart.

Juliet on the other hand.
I was getting really annoyed with her always fucking running.
I get it.
I understand that that’s part of the story and she has good reason.
But I still fucking hate it.
She has like zero faith or trust in Killian up until she has a life threatening experience.

It’s frustrating.

Plus she’s a shit thief. Which is just me being petty, but whatever.

I still really enjoyed reading this. I’m glad I picked it up.
The sex was fiery and the banter and little bits of humor really kept me engaged. Balancing out the annoying running so I could keep reading.

Now I’m really wondering what happened at the end of Ruthless Creatures. Are these two series in the same universe?…
I need to know.

This was not it. I really just couldn’t stand the heroine at all. She was so stubborn and wouldn’t look at things clearly. I loved Killian though. His sarcasm and humor was to die for.

I much prefer the author's other series

Killian has been a favorite secondary character in a few books now. He was first introduced in the Dangerous Beauty series and really not very favorably, he did some questionable things, but the intrigue of him started there. Then we get so much more information about him in Beautifully Cruel and my fascination with him definitely grew. From my understanding there was originally no book in the works for Killian, I am so glad the hounding from the fans changed the author’s mind!!

To get the full effect of Killian Black and to get a better understanding of this book, it is advisable to read Beautifully Cruel first. There is a secret Killian is keeping from Jules and you will go in reading this book already knowing what that is. But if you want to find out when Jules does, that would actually be fun too.

I absolutely loved this book!! I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot this year with some of the books I’ve read, but this one I really really loved. The chemistry between Killian and Jules was off the charts. With Jules’ history she tried to fight her attraction to Killian with everything she had, but what Killian wants he gets and he is very good at getting it! Killian is this ultimate alpha, possessive and the head of the Irish mafia, and so much more, but he is also a romantic who quotes Shakespeare and tries so hard to be honest with Jules. The most endearing scenes were when he was asking for advice on how to get Jules to fall in love with him. And then all the banter between these two had me laughing out loud so many times. Jules was a fantastic heroine, she was definitely not weak, she is strong-willed, tenacious, intelligent and has this sarcastic wit that keeps Killian on his toes. And not only that, she has a great set of friends that had me in stitches with their conversations and antics.

Out of the 205 books I’ve read so far this year, Cruel Paradise is definitely in my top 10 favorites and Killian Black is one my top favorite book boyfriends!! A definite 5 star read and highly recommend!

JT can do no wrong IMO.

I was down bad for Killian from the get-go.

He took one look at our FMC & knew she was it for him - WE LOVE TO SEE IT.

Perfect for romcom girlies who are curious about mafia romances but aren’t into dark romances & mafia romance lovers too (obvi)

Need to know:
Secret identifies
Rival mafia families
Thief FMC
Dual POV
Guy falls first
“Tell me what you want & it’s yours”
Heroine in danger

This book reminded me a little of one of my favorite action/romcoms everrrr - Knight & Day

It was an easy read but sooooo repetitive. Basically same thing happen over and over again for the middle 80% of the book. She’s hesitant, he pushes the relationship on her, she cant help but fall in love but denies it, so on and so forth. Only reason i finished it was bc it was short and easy to read.

Good second book. I’ll keep reading her series. Mafia lite, with nothing too terrible happening to main characters.

I'm sorry, but what point is the author trying to make in this scene where the heroine's two best friends are arguing?

“Oh, you think you’re such a stunner, huh? You look like something I drew with my left hand.” I say, “Girls.” They ignore me. Fin says, “Don’t make me have to smack the extra chromosome out of you.”

As far as I know, an extra chromosome is related to Down Syndrome. So is Finn implying the other friend is "flawed", either mentally or physically? This just reads bad. The scene adds absolutely nothing to the story and is offensive.
