who tf gave Juliet the right to be this annoying

“No. Do you always talk like you ate a dictionary for breakfast?”

He puts his mouth close to my ear and lowers his voice. “No. Sometimes I talk like I fuck: dirty.”

Killian. OH KILLIAN. Sweet talking, Shakespeare quoting Killian. *Big swoon* I read this in one sitting because I’m obsessed with the Black brothers and their fiesty women. I liked Juliet, probably less than Tru but she was still incredibly funny and strong-willed. I did find her to be hypocritical believing Killian to be exactly like her father despite his actions but their story came together so well I was so happy in the end!

Alright so I can’t even lie I was a bit let down with this one but that’s on me bc my expectations were too damn high. My real issue was with Juliet tbh she just ugh… how can you like Tru but not a Juliet I’ll tell you..

Where tru was lead by strength because of how she was raised. Juliet was lead by fear for the lack of nurturing she didn’t get bc her mother died and ultimately made her seem weak & stubborn TO ME which just isn’t my cup of tea in a heroine. She thought she was standing for something when actually she wasn’t. I didn’t warm to her as I did with Tru & I was very frustrated with her at times. I dislike very much when heroines let their pasts control their decisions and interfere with their current situations.

Now Killian? Whewww babyyyy that man could GET IT. I loved him from the beginning. His sense or humor, confidence, wisdom, arrogance & just him being so self assured omg panty melting FORREAL. I also really loved how patient and understanding he was of Juliet even though she got on my damn nerves.

The spice? I really enjoyed the spice in both book but I can’t compare them which is weird bc they’re different yet very similar i mean duh they were written by the same woman. Anyway good duet. Read it.

So good??? Killian was kinda annoying but this was good!!!!! Just the whole plot was so so enjoyable

Such a great second book to the Beautifully Cruel duology. J.T. Geissinger has such a way with writing amazing characters and dialogue, the banter is top notch. And I enjoyed seeing some familiar names from the Queens & Monster series. Killian was such a great alpha male and though an identical twin was different from his brother Liam and enjoyed reading more of his backstory and seeing him fall for Juliet.

Juliet and her friends were modern day robin hoods and I enjoyed their friendship and banter, it would have also been but to have had Killian interact more with them!

I would recommend reading this series before the Queens & Monsters, though it isn't really necessary, you will miss some links and background!

Overall a solid mafia romance!

well. it was a book. technically speaking.

didn't think anyone could be better liam black but killian black made it happen. when i tell you think man was perfect, bitch i stg i would do anything for him. oh my god. this was EVERYTHING. also leave it to miss jt to write a headstrong heroine who stands up for herself and doesn't let a man treat her like shit. more of that plsssss

God who knew Killian would be such a fucking romantic? It really makes me appreciate his cameos in the other books more. I adore him. He’s so open and romantic and soft and romantic and sweet and romantic.

“Let me in. Let me take care of you. Give me your trust, and I’ll give you the world. I’ll give you anything you ask for.”
