A worthy follow up to Beautifully Cruel. I prefered the overall storyline of the first installment but liked the relationship between Killian and Juliet very much. I find that J.T. Geissinger writes good female characters that are not afraid to stand up for themselves despite some maddening circumstances at times.

I much prefer the author's other series

These books make me happy. They’re not literary masterpieces. You’re not going in for exceptionally beautiful prose. You’re going in to read about a badass FMC who gets annoyed (in the best way) by a dreamboat mafia MMC.

I don’t even like mafia but we can call this mafia lite. IYKYK.

Please for the love of all things good- READ BOOK ONE FIRST. Yes, they’re interconnected stand-alone but just take my word for it. As a matter of fact, clear the TBR deck because you’re going to want to read what comes next immediately. (I read them out of order, unfortunately)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Geissinger could write a repair manual and I would read it. She writes the best FMC’s. In this book we get a group of best friends and their dialogue was spectacular.
