It was really good!! The beginning was slow, but after that, I was so into it!! I couldn’t put it down; the plot got me!! I can’t wait to read the next book !
There is a lot of smut. It wasn’t excessive but very detailed. Whether you like it or not, It didn’t really bother me tho!
Tatiana the woman she is!! And Konstantin omg he is so determined to have her. We live for this! Love them!!
I'm a bit confused tho because I don't know if the author wants us to guess the plot, but... I feel like we already have an idea of what to expect. I'm particularly referring to Adrian and his family being connected to Konstantin's family, etc. But well it doesn’t stop me to want to know the whole story.
- the plot is so well written! It makes me love mafia romances more
- both main characters are so good and I love their tension and their chemistry
- I want to read all of her books and I will!!

This starts off with a bang, quite literally, and that pretty much sets the tone—this book is exciting, packing all sorts of drama, angst, some stalker vibes, manipulation, so much corruption, business dealings and lots of steamy scenes.
Some tropes /qualities you may enjoy:
Violence.
Crime families.
Scandal.
Unexpected Pregnancy.
Enemies-to-lovers vibes.
Tragedy.
Audio:
I was surprised when I started this book and there was less-than-perfect sound quality, as this production company’s books are usually flawless. That said, Erin sounded like she was under water for this one—it was unpleasant. She also sounded winded throughout the entire book, absolutely panting, which could be a bit distracting.
The male was … okay other times and sometimes sounded robotic, just dictating the words, completely void of any emotion. Overall he did a decent job.
The overall production was still higher quality than a lot of audio productions I’ve heard—3.5 stars on this front.

This was my first book by Eva Winners and I really liked the story, though it did drag a little and the writing was a bit repetitive at times.
I really liked the world and characters and am excited for the stories of certain side characters. I do feel like even though this is book 1 in the series, there were quite a few references to other series by the author, which left me feeling a bit lost at times. Overall, I enjoyed the book and am starting book 2 straight away!

I'm hooked
The chemistry between Tatiana and Illias was off the charts. The mystery of where the missing chip is and Adrian's double life was captivating. I didn't love that this book ended where it did but it just makes me want to jump in and read the next one.

Loved the banter between Illas and Tatiana. This book reminded me of what unconditional love should look like between a husband and a wife. I devoured this book within days. It is one of those books that you wish you could read over and over.
'Every rose does indeed, have its thorn. The thorns of these Roses are particularly prickly, and none can escape without bloodshed. Eva Winners masters the dark romance genre with this duet! - The British Bibliophile

My Eva Winners drought is officially over! It's been a long three months since my last read from this legendary lady (Luca, for those curious), now I'm back in her comforting literary arms with not one, but two reads. Yes, folks, we're talking about a duet here!
When Eva announced via our ARC team emails that we'd be getting Thorns of Lust and Thorns of Love as back-to-back ARC reads, I don't think I could've been happier if I tried. There's no better way to end a drought from reading one of your favourite authors than being treated two two ARCs back-to-back! Eva is one of those authors who's words I can simply consume with much pleasure, over and over, and still be hungry for more of her so...I dove on in to this world of all things Omertà.
For those of you already familiar with Eva's past works, the Thorns of Omertà brings together this brand new world and a pre-existing one, the Belles & Mobsters series. The two are of course completely independent, but we will be seeing familiar faces from the former series appear from time-to-time in this one. If you're not familiar, do not despair. You'll be brought up to speed of who's who and who's married to who, but I highly recommend that you check out the Belles & Mobsters series! A five-star series across the board.
Thorns of Lust is book one of a duet series within the Thorns of Omertà series, which at present stands at a three book series in total. The third, to my understanding, will be a standalone so I highly recommend reading both this read and book two, Thorns of Love one after the other. We've been teased in previous Belles & Mobsters reads as to our two leading characters in this book--Tatiana & Illias--but now its time for them to take centre stage in their own story spread across these two books. It's a good thing that it is in fact spread across these two books, because the story between these two goes back further than we think and there's a lot to unpack from the past and offload as things pile up on top of them on the road to happily ever after.
Though as we know in this beautifully dark world of mad mobsters, there's no such thing as a smooth sailing on the road to said happily ever after.
Illias Konstantin, mobster and man obsessed with the woman of his dreams who also happens to be just shy of his reach. Yet, he's more keen than ever to have what is forbidden to him. At least, what he thinks is forbidden. As the most notorious man of the underworld, a man not to be ignored and once his sight is firmly set on something--or rather, someone--there's nothing that can take his eyes off the prize. And what a prize he has in Tatiana Nikolaev. But does this notorious man have a softer side than he wants to let on or even know about? There's only one woman, much to his own surprise, can answer that question. It's only a matter of time before he can officially catch her, make her his and obtain that answer. Tatiana, your days are numbered. Konstantin is coming.
Tatiana Nikolaev is a force of nature all of her own, complete with high-heeled shoes and an attitude that would make the most fearsome mobster--Illias not included--quake in his boots. A hellcat in heels, if you will. Sister to the Nikolaev brothers and mobsters within their own rights, she hasn't been brought sheltered and innocent in the corrupt world that surrounds her brothers. Though not an active of a member in corruption as her brothers are, she is in deeper than she gives credit for thanks to her husband's dealings. Not that she knows that. She can give as good as it gets and isn't afraid to do what it takes to get the results she desires. Tatiana, by far and large, is the very definition of a 'girl boss'. Period.
These two as individuals are their own forces of nature, so you can imagine what will happen when their paths--and other parts--collide.
Believe me when I say there was a lot to unpack in this first of two books, though all of it was dripping with sinful, sexy, spicy and everything in between. It's a slow burn romance filled with maniacal mobsters, devious devils, surprising secrets and one hell of a cat-and-mouse game that can only end one way because after all, Illias isn't the most notorious man of the underworld for nothing. He always gets results, and he always gets the prize his eyes are on.
I've never been more tempted to dish all the juicy goodness about a book before, but I have now. Though as tempted as I am, I will resist spilling the spoilers and--like a good Belle--will simply and humbly get down on my knees to beg you all to read this duet because if you think things are good in this book, they get even better--or worse, depending on your perspective. Especially if you're a character within this book--in the next instalment.
There might even be a surprise or three, along the way for you.
Watch this space, folks, this is a series. to. watch!
Five stars!

If there isn't a saying that says "Get You a Pakhan," there should be because whew Illas Konstantin may be the Devil in Tom Ford to some, but he's major BBF material. My girl Tatiana has been to hell and back, the man she loved most of her life was a liar, and she's literally in bed with her own devil who controls her body and soul. Adrian left her the biggest mess when he died and now she has to give up the booze, clear her mind and follow the bread crumbs he's left, but will they lead to heartache or the life she always wanted? Nikoleavs take care of family and Tatiana will make sure hers is still standing in the end.
Eva has once again turned my world upside down! Her storytelling, writing, weaving connections that have me scratching my head and going... Oh yeah that's right, I absolutely love it. The banter between Illias and Tatiana was perfection, "so you just happened to have an extra " plug" laying around?" IYKYK
