I'm a sucker for books spanning multiple generations in a family. The first 300 or so pages were all pretty incredible but didn't blow my mind or do anything better than I think many books like One Hundreds Years of Solitude or East of Eden have done, but those last 200 blew me the fuck away. The way the events of the book take a left turn and then the consequences of everyone's actions REALLY began to be felt was one of the most impressive and riveting things I've read in my adult life

Cómo puedo explicarles todo lo que me hizo sentir este libro? Simplemente maravilloso. I absolutely loved this book. From the very first pages, I knew I was going to love it. The first chapter reminded me right away to Hundred years of Solitude and Gabo’s world and style of writing. I knew I was hooked then.
I’m not sure how the translations in other languages are, but reading this book in Spanish has been a real pleasure. Beautifully written, the story flowing and connecting in such a way… I’m not really sure how to put it into words.
I feel I have so much to write and to comment on but don’f know where to start, how to describe it. This book just made me feel a lot of things and I truly enjoyed every chapter of it. I guess it also made it special to read it while I was at home in Chile, in September which is a rather special month for the country.

5/5would definitely recommend!!!
