Naomi has been through it. Little does she know, she's got a ways to go.
After saving a woman from her serial killer father's murder room as a young girl, Naomi has been on the run from the nightmare that is her memory. Finally, she decides to settle down far from where she grew up--but she can't quite escape her past.
I appreciated the held-breath suspense throughout the novel. Overall, I felt like some of the story was repetitive in a way that felt predictable. Naomi's struggle to feel like she belongs, like she is lovable, became a little tired to me. I also felt like the in-depth descriptions of the interior design strategy felt overdone instead of personable. It felt a bit like those narrative elements were trying to meet a wordcount instead of providing helpful contextthat would have made the copycat killer's entrance less abrupt and strange. It didn't feel like there was much a of a throughline with the copycat killer for a good portion of the book, which felt really awkward when the murders began again, even though he's mentioned earlier in the book .

It has been awhile since I've read a Nora Roberts book and was pleasantly surprised by this book. I took a break from her books because they were getting to be too much of a pattern. This was a great read and a very unique story. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes murder mysteries.

Wow, what a read. The romance was very grounded which was great. As soon as I finished it, I looked at my husband and asked him to reactivate our alarm system. This one freaked me out for sure.
The dialogue was strange. Idk if it was a local vernacular or what but it was strange.
