Yet another series I find of LLV's I come to late, but on this I will be reading the other books as soon as I can. This is the story of Carmichael, a strong near fearless teacher of both English and CrossFit who has a massive crush on the oblivious Croft, despite him feeling the same way, but a moment of forgetfulness causes a rift between them. GAH. The story, the tension, the energy between them was off the charts and I adored every second of this. I always have the best time reading LLV's books and this was no different. Every series sucks me in. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job.

Yes finally Croft is getting his book!!!
I have been waiting for Croft to get his book for what seems like forever. And well his story is the perfect end for The Southern Gentlemen Series. And I will say that Carmichael was just the right woman to bring Croft to his knees.
This book had all the elements of a LLV book that I have come to love: there is the drama, there is some comedy thrown in there, and of course there is some steamy moments that will have you fanning yourself. I will say I'm sad to see this series coming to an end, but I can say without a doubt I have enjoyed every word of it.

Hm, well I didn't like it as much as Flint/Camyrns book. It was enjoyable and I did like Croft and Carmichael. Not sure if I totally liked them together. They were cute but I didn't quite feel the same connection between them like I didn't Flint and Camryn.
As always, the "bad guys" plot was predictable and not very developed. All basic and shallow reasoning. Nothing new there.
Overall I did it enjoy it but it didn't seem to flow as well for me and I didn't enjoy the romance (what little there was) as much as I hoped. Kinda bummed about waiting for more stories about secondary characters from this series to be released in an entirely different one. In 2022. Sigh.

I love this series, each book brings more heart-pounding goodness from LLV! She writes the stories that you can read in one day, or stretch it out, but really why would you. This book grabs you right away and keeps you entertained throughout. I'm sad that this series is ending, but we are getting a great spin-off to take its place.

Un tome que j'avais eu un peu peur de lire parce que je n'avais pas trop accroché à Croft dans les tomes précédents (trop "beige") mais finalement, j'ai adoré le voir avec son propre tome !!
Et pour une fois, c'était presque un slowburn avec un énorme malentendu qui crée tout un tas de tensions comme on les aime =)
Bref, un tome qui finit une série que j'ai dévoré du début à la fin ! Ce n'est pas ma préférée pour cette auteure mais si vous cherchez des romances sexy et légères avec beaucoup de dramas, je recommande !

And for once, it was almost a slowburn with a huge misunderstanding that creates a whole lot of tension as we like it =)
In short, a book that ends a series that I devoured from start to finish ! It's not my favorite by this author but if you're looking for sexy and light romances with a lot of drama, I recommend it !

I liked this book but i didn't love it. LLV's lastest books including this have felt very rushed and more like a novella rather than a full length. The newer books are all very predictable didn't i wish she would go back to how she use to wright. maybe she needs to take a break or step away from this genre and try something else so she can recharge and be the LLV we love.
