Finally we are getting Croft and Carmicheal! I will say I am a little torn about this book. I enjoyed it but there was just something about it that left me unsure. Croft is Raleigh's brother (Hissy fit) while Carmicheal is Flint's sister (Lord Have Mercy) and I have been waiting for them for a while.
They both like one another and when they finally have a date Croft messes things up badly. Six months later and Carmicheal wants nothing to do with him. That is until her house is broken in to and he's hurt. Things move pretty quickly in this book and I knew pretty quickly who the crazies were. Croft and Carmicheal have off the chart chemistry and I loved that. I also loved how easy their relationship seemed to be once they admitted they had feelings for one another. I will say Croft on the meds after he's hurt is so funny. I loved that!
One of my biggest things (and it is honestly small in the grand scheme of things) is that we don't get to find out how well Danger gets along when she goes to live with Croft's parents. I felt like there was a good amount of time spend sharing her troubles, the fact that she has some issues but seems to love Croft's mom. I guess I got a little attached to her.
I did love that we are told this is the last book in this series but that we will get Schultz in a new series next year. Until this book I didn't take much notice of him. He was just a side character and nothing more. In this one he steps up and I took notice.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Wickedly Romance

I have been waiting for Croft and Carmichael’s book. It was totally worth the wait. Just as good as I hoped.

Croft Crusie is one hawt lawyer! Kind of oblivious too. And being oblivious gets him all sorts of hot water with Carmichael at the gym. Then he doubles down and sends Carmichael a stupid text. He should not have been surprised when she wants nothing to do with him. So starts Quit Being Ugly. If you have read the previous two books in this series, you know Carmichael is the gym's co-owner with her brother Flint. Croft is the brother of Raleigh from Hissy Fit, and he's now a trainer at the gym.
What does it take to get Croft's head out of his butt? That incident drives the story in Lani Lynn Vale's fashion. We get our action and a bit of suspense, and guys get their heads and hearts straightened out so they can get the girl. Once Croft figures out how he messed up, he goes out of his way to fix it. And his fixing makes for some great reading. Add in Flint, who will probably beat him if he hurts his sister, and the story has the potential for getting interesting. This book is classic Lani Lynn Vale and a fun, enjoyable read.

Quit Bein' Ugly is the third and last book in the Southern Gentleman series by Lani Lynn Vale. Hissy Fit was my first Lani book and I've read every book she's written since then, so this series has a special place in my heart. We finally get Croft and Carmichael's story! They have known each other for years and have crushed on each other for years. Just when they decide to go on an actual date, Croft brings another girl to the gym and Carmichael acts appropriately, being mad and not talking to him. After six months, Croft realizes he was a moron and wants to make things right. He wants Carmichael. Once they figure out what they want it's on! There's a little danger, a little sexiness and a lot of fun. We get to see Ezra, Raleigh, Flint and Camryn again and Shultz will be getting a story in a new series! I loved Croft and Carmichael! I love that they work out and eat and just have fun together!
I’ve read and really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so had to sign up right away for this one. I liked a lot about this one. The characters were real. They definitely liked each other for real reasons and liked each other as real people. Another thing I really liked about this was how it portrayed being a teacher, especially a substitute, realistically. Working with kids is hard. Whether they are the “good” kids or the “bad” kids. But it is so rewarding even when it is hard. There were definitely very steamy scenes. As usual I love how the author gets our characters together and the final drama is something they deal with together. Sometimes that is nice to have in a romance as well. Another fun book from Lani Lynn Vale.

I've binged this series just to read this one and once again Lani has pulled me into her world effortlessly and has me not wanting to leave!
Every series i read by Lani is nothing but amazing, the ladies are always sassy and have alot of humor and Charmicheal was no different, her relationship with flint was good, brotherly/sisterly love.
Croft, i was instantly intrigued by him in Raleigh and Ezra's book, i couldn't wait to get to his book!
I'm looking forward to Shultz story!

Normally I never give one star reviews for books I've actually finished, because it's an authors life blood in that book and just because I personally don't like it doesn't mean it's bad. But this... All the men in this book are so misogynistic and all women that aren't heroines from other books or possible heroines for later books are described horribly. I don't understand why there are so many positive reviews. Besides that the crossfit was a bit too much for me personally. I also don't understand how the MCs become "enemies" in the first place, they could have had one simple conversation and everything would have been fine. I really can't recommend this book, for one because I didn't like it at all and also because it was so openly misogynistic, which I really don't get with female authors.
