Carmichael was thrilled to finally get the date she had been longing for when her long time crush Croft Cruise finally asked her out. The day of their date though Croft made a mistake that had Mikey staying out of his path and not in any mood to forgive and forget. Six months later Croft still doesn't know what happened with Mikey and when Croft ends up needing someone to help him out, grudgingly his next door Mikey is the obvious choice. Can Mikey keep her hurt tamped down or will she finally get her chance with Croft?
I am saddened to see this series come to an end because it was so delightful. I was anxious to see where Mikey's story would go and was thrilled by this one unraveled. Mikey is a handful and Croft is trying to wrap his head around what went wrong. I thought it was entertaining that on one hand Croft is this alpha male and on the other he is completely oblivious. Another wonderful read by this author.

I don't know why I didn't read this series when I read the other books by LLV but I'm so glad I re-read the whole line including this. Croft and Carmichael. they had their moments especially considering how Croft was such a player and it was hard for Carmichael to give him that chance after he messed up but he manned up and apologized to her. She still made him work for it but that's as it should be. I enjoyed this book greatly finding their interactions to be mature and totally within the realm of possibility. The lack of proof and the investigation work on these books though make me think they need better investigators at their police departments. Still another great great book.
Quit Bein’ Ugly is the newest book to be released and also book three of the Southern Gentlemen Series by one of my all time favourite authors Lani Lynn Vale.
I really enjoyed reading this new take LLV has taken with incorporating CrossFit into this book.
The heroine, Carmichael, owns a CrossFit gym with her brother and helps runs training sessions. She has had a long time crush on Croft Cruisie who is also one of her brothers closest friends.
When Carmichael’s house is broken into one night, she immediately calls her brother who calls her next door neighbour, Croft. Croft’s instinctive protective nature comes out and refuses to let anyone but himself look after and protect Carmichael.
Carmichael is a take no prisoners woman who owns who she is. She loves working out and has the muscles to prove it. She also knows how to look after herself and doesn’t take it easy on Croft once he starts playing protector.
I loved the dynamic between the two main characters and also all the secondary characters. As always, the character development is amazing throughout this book.
I can’t wait to read LLV’s new series which incorporates CrossFit into her novels even more.
I highly recommend this book and this awesome series.

I'm on the fence about this author.
I really want to like her work more, especially as she writes so much and I read so much.
But... I find her a bit of a jumbled mess. I think it may be a case of its me not you as she seems very popular but I find there is a lack of scene setting, detail and I am left wondering if I missed something at some points.
On the positive the Hero is not a man-whore type.
He is super busy with his job and a bit oblivious.
The other woman drama mentioned in the blurb as 'and lets her know in a quick and painful, non-verbal way that her feelings are not reciprocated.' was him being oblivious.
She is due to go on a date with him that evening, he attends the gym with another woman who the heroine feels is all over him.
Later the heroine says she can see he wasn't open to other woman.
The other woman is a work colleague who wants more, the Hero is showing her around the city.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
HEA.

Finally we are getting Croft and Carmicheal! I will say I am a little torn about this book. I enjoyed it but there was just something about it that left me unsure. Croft is Raleigh's brother (Hissy fit) while Carmicheal is Flint's sister (Lord Have Mercy) and I have been waiting for them for a while.
They both like one another and when they finally have a date Croft messes things up badly. Six months later and Carmicheal wants nothing to do with him. That is until her house is broken in to and he's hurt. Things move pretty quickly in this book and I knew pretty quickly who the crazies were. Croft and Carmicheal have off the chart chemistry and I loved that. I also loved how easy their relationship seemed to be once they admitted they had feelings for one another. I will say Croft on the meds after he's hurt is so funny. I loved that!
One of my biggest things (and it is honestly small in the grand scheme of things) is that we don't get to find out how well Danger gets along when she goes to live with Croft's parents. I felt like there was a good amount of time spend sharing her troubles, the fact that she has some issues but seems to love Croft's mom. I guess I got a little attached to her.
I did love that we are told this is the last book in this series but that we will get Schultz in a new series next year. Until this book I didn't take much notice of him. He was just a side character and nothing more. In this one he steps up and I took notice.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Wickedly Romance

Yet another series I find of LLV's I come to late, but on this I will be reading the other books as soon as I can. This is the story of Carmichael, a strong near fearless teacher of both English and CrossFit who has a massive crush on the oblivious Croft, despite him feeling the same way, but a moment of forgetfulness causes a rift between them. GAH. The story, the tension, the energy between them was off the charts and I adored every second of this. I always have the best time reading LLV's books and this was no different. Every series sucks me in. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.
2.5*
Hero’s thoughts about heroine’s sister-in-law did not bother me much.
Something about his dick twitches seeing pregnant woman.
He’s clueless when It comes to heroine. Well...I can move on from it.
Heroine forgives him easily without making him grovel *deep inhale* yeah whatever.
BUT these things officially killed the book for me :
Heroine is main pursuers and I hate it when heroine has to chase . We did not get a chance to see hero’s love for her. Not even once.
Drama with OW/OM. OW is quite nasty.
Wherever hero goes, women look at him like a piece of meat. This is so annoying.
Hero wasn't giving me manwhore vibe at all.”, his mother has to rub it in my face to prove how WRONG I AM.
“I’ve never seen my son so comfortable with a woman before in my life. And saying that, I’ve seen him with a lot of them. But you, my girl? You’re special. I’ve never in my life seen him act the way he’s acted with you over the last hour. Not once.”
OKAY, so I guess this is supposed to be a good thing because how special our heroine is to him
