I have been loving the last two books by Sajni Patel. The ladies in this book are full of empowerment and so supportive of one another.

At times I got frustrated with Daniel and Preeti, because their communication wasn't the best. I found myself thinking "well, if you would just talk to one another, you'd figure this out". Obviously there wouldn't be a book without these minor issues so I suppose I can't complain.

Totally worth the read/listen to. I've never had a look into Indian culture like I have with these novels. It's fascinating and similar to others but unique in historical and lifestyle. The author does an incredible job explaining hardships, expectations in family dynamics and religious institutions covering up scandals, etc.

I really hope there's a book #3!

This was fine! I liked the story. I didn't love Preeti and sometimes the characters felt like they went from one emotional extreme to another far too quickly, but it was an enjoyable enough read, and I liked the biracial pairing of an Indian woman with a Black man.

I work for the publisher of this book; all opinions presented are my own.

This is sort of interesting as a second book in a series, because it feels very different from The Trouble With Hating You. It's a bit more serious in tone, and while TTWHY dealt with some seriously heavy topics & the MCs' trauma, Preeti's mental health, the intensity of her life as a doctor and finding a job, her relationship with her parents, and generational conflict and racism within Desi communities take center stage. The romance is a tension-filled second chance/forced proximity with some really tender moments, but it does take a bit of a backseat, especially because we only get Preeti's POV. For the record, I don't think that's a bad thing; it is a heavier read though. I thought it was a very compelling story with a great deal of nuance and would definitely recommend. (I can't speak to the South Asian experience, so I recommend checking out some South Asian readers' reviews if you're curious about that!!)

Wow! The characters were wonderful! You could definitely see the character development with the main character. I just wish it happened throughout the story rather than before and in a more subtle way. The love interest was the sweetest person ever. The ending was perfect as well. Loved this book!
