This book got so much better when I realized that the two cities mentioned in the title were not London and Paris, but instead the conflict between the metaphorical cities of Sydney Carton being so epic and everyone else being so lame

It took me a while to get into this book. And once I did, I thought it was good, but it took almost half of the book for me to gain any interest. At first, it didn’t seem like the story had a plot but slowly it all unfolded for me.
The book is centered around the French Revolution and takes place in both Paris and England, the two cities. We are introduced to a number of characters and I liked how each character in Dickens’ book seemed to play a unique and important role. There isn’t any true main character. There are just several different characters with interlocking relationships.
Overall, it was decent story, just slow and sometimes hard to follow.
