This was a very enjoyable listen. I thoroughly enjoyed the narration.

I found this story a bit slow to start, maybe because I'd just come off a long bender of mystery and murder. Yet a few chapters in, the characters grabbed at my heart and I was hooked.

Very engaging. Delightful cast of characters. Some expected outcomes, and some that were a bit--well, not only unexpected, but unbelievable. Still thoroughly enjoyable, especially since I read it right after returning from a tour of Ireland. It was great fun knowing where the characters were in many of the settings!

I’m clearly in the minority, but I wasn’t a fan. While this was an easy read that ended well, I had a hard time finishing. The plot and characters had great potential, but the whole book just felt “meh.”

I respect authors and the hard work and creativity they put into their books, so I always want to be kind, but the writing just wasn’t great. Unnecessary dialogue, poorly developed characters, and focus on strange details made it difficult to get into.

On top of that, the editing was lacking. For example, American characters were using European words and phrases (trolly instead of shopping cart, for example). While this isn’t a big deal in the scheme of things, all together it felt like a missed opportunity for me. Like I said, I’m in the minority, and I’m glad so many enjoyed it! Just wasn’t for me.

It was okay. A light read. Some nice spots here and there.
