This book is rich with life lessons and good morals. The relationship between the 2 brothers is so sweet. Got misty in a few places—such a a great story!

I always enjoy WKK’s atmospheric and beautiful prose. But, the only story of his that I’ve really loved was This Tender Land. Maybe it was the teenage boy pov, or the way disability was portrayed, but a couple of things just didn’t quite work for me. Also, the heavy foreshadowing ensures you know where the story is going long before you arrive.
I adored this book. The ruminations on grace, God, Minnesota, and summertime! It's a bit sad, but it captures perfectly growing up in the Midwest during the summer.

This was a great book. He is a great writer. There is great character development and the story flowed well. There is a mix of everyday life in a small town and heartbreak that works well together. The mystery was a little hard to figure out, but as we got nearer to the end, it started to pull together the "who done it". Loved the epilogue. I listened to it and it was a good book to listen to - easy to keep engaged.
