i love elias but his pov's in this book were pretty boring, the poor boy just wants to love in peace. let him :(
laia is, as always, my favorite character and the most interesting
i'm actually fully invested in ms blood shrike's story now & the part where she t**e h*r m**k o*f ... (idk if that was censored enough i'm sorry if i spoiled)
also the new little alliance in the end..beautiful, so excited for the next one
very difficult to get into in the beginning since i haven't read the second one in a while but by the end i was fully hooked again

First off, I will say that I am writing this review after only having read 3/4 of this book. My reasoning for this is that I just did not enjoy it and decided it would be best to return it and the fourth book to the library in the hopes that someone else could read it and enjoy it more. This book was just confusing. The main characters don't know what is going on, which is not always a bad thing, but they just seem to be fumbling through the story while the world is ending around them. I feel like less subplots would've benefited the series, as there is not enough detail into each one. I hope that someone else could read this series and enjoy it though.
This entry stepped it up a bit from the second in the series, and I eagerly await the conclusion.

She did it again, so much anger and frustration and yet I’m sobbing at the end. Sabaa makes you understand her characters’ actions even when you don’t want to.
