I can’t say that I enjoyed this one as much as the first two. This one felt way more like the characters were just running around not really accomplishing much. With the other stories I definitely looked forward to anyone’s story whereas this one I was mostly only excited for Blood-strike’s. LOVED her character arc in this one hands down so with that being said I would still recommend this to anyone who wants just a good time fantasy story. I can’t wait to see how it ends!

I'm honestly surprised so many characters are alive. "A Reaper at the Gates" by Sabaa Tahir really put them through it.

Having your sister married to the Emperor is supposed to be kinda a big deal. But when he is crazy, had your family killed, and spent his time in school threatening you everyday it is rather the worst. Helen is trying to maintain her loyalty and her vows, and that is pointing to her finding a legal way to deal Commandant Veturia. Laia is busy trying to convince her brother to forge and find answers about The Nightbringer. Answers that will put her back into harms way. Elias is dropping the ball on his new job shepherding the dead, and they are not pleased about over-crowding in the place between. Oh and the barbarian hordes are at the gates.

Narrated by Fiona Harding ham Katherine Lee McEwan, Maxwell Caulfield, and Steve West. Always enjoy a great multi pov cast for a story like this.

Reasons to read:
-My guess on the augers was correct
-A giant library that contains vast stores of knowledge
-Few more answers
-I was half right about my first guess
-Well that's a good way to go out

Cons:
-Was hoping for a different death for them
