slow-paced
Things Left Unsaid is the first book in the pigeon creek series. It has everything a great small town romance needs - a great community, nosy neighbors and of course a beautifully written romance! I really liked the dynamics in the book. Zee is such a strong woman. I really like her. Colt is a great guy who takes care of the people depending on him. I love that after Zee asked him the right questions he saw the light and apologized. I loved even more that Zee didn't forgive him right away. It's not easy to portrait all these emotions and the internal struggle. It's done perfectly in Things Left Unsaid. That's the highest praise I can give because I'm normally not into slow burn but this was done so well that I devoured the book in 2 sittings.
If you are looking for a small town romance this book is for you. It smolders so good before setting you on fire with it's heat. I am not usually a slow burn person, but I could not put this book down. I finished it in less than 2 days. If you love G.A. Mazurke's other books you will love this one too. It has mystery, intrigue, second chances, found family, billionaires, and hot cowboys. What more could you ask for? I was so happy to see some familiar faces in this book and cannot wait for the next Pigeon Creek book!
Zee is called home urgently by her Grandmother only to learn that he must marry the neighboring rancher or they will lose their family home. The problem is their families have hated each other for generations and Colt hates her the most for something she never did.
Colt can never forgive Zee for what she has done, but to save his ranch he will try to find a way for them to exist together. When he finds out she is not to blame for the tragedy in his past how will he make it up to her. Will they be able to find their way together or are they doomed to be apart.
I also listened to the audiobook for this and really enjoyed. I recommend either way to enjoy this book. I was sent an Advanced Listener Copy

Small Town Romantic Suspense
Things Left Unsaid is a sweet, small town slow burn romance with heat. The first book in a new series is set in a small Canadian town.
There has been a feud between Colt & Zee’s families for years, but unbeknownst to their families, they were friends until the moment they were not. Years later, both families force them to marry to save each family’s ranch.
We first meet Colt and the Korhonen brothers in Waiting Game, book 2 in the New York Stars series. From that moment, I knew I wanted to know more about him.
This is a fantastic start to a brand-new series, with titbits of The Sinners thrown in.

I eat this story up. Romantic Suspense, feuding families, &and an arranged marriage to unite them and save a ranch.
I absolutely loved the banter and drama in this book it made the story for me.

I love that this series is connected to the NY stars series which is ofc connected to the five points series. I love when there's lots of connections like that. The story itself was great and I loved all the characters. The last sex scene was hot af, more of that please.
Got this on Audible and really enjoyed it. A few too many subplots that felt like they kinda fell through but that may be because they'll be picked up in future books.
No stars given.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be get into the story. I found everything the characters said to be a sort of caricature and it really took me out of the story.
I'm clearly in the minority so give it a chance.

Written in alternating dual first-person POV, [a:G.A. Mazurke|20686436|G.A. I enjoyed my first read by Mazurke—an emotional and romantic love story about two people who once shared a deep bond connection until a horrible tragedy and misunderstanding tore them apart, changing and ruining their lives profoundly.
Mazurke seamlessly tells/develops their love story, alternating between the present and flashbacks to the past without slowing down the novel’s pacing. Her expressive writing is vibrant, with detailed descriptions that place you in each scene with the characters. She deftly develops her intriguing, flawed, likable, and relatable characters, bringing them to life from the pages through dark, intense, humorous, and suspenseful scenes rich with excellent worldbuilding and interactions filled with emotion, passion, and conflict. Mazurke’s characters are distinct, engaging, and complex, complementing her character-driven story that relies heavily on her characters and their interactions and her intriguing, suspenseful secondary stories. I love Colt and Zee, and I like her friends and his brothers. Also, there’s more going on than you expect with the characters you don’t like, which makes you think about how you feel about them.
In the background of Colt and Zee’s (Susanne) marriage and relationship, there’s quite a lot going on in the small town of Pigeon’s Creek, and quite a bit ties back to either the 7C (Colt’s family’s land), Bar 9 (Zee’s family’s land), or both. Additionally, while Zee’s been gone, a lot has changed, and she begins discovering the secrets her family’s been keeping, leaving her to deal with their realities and fallout. Mazurke skillfully delves into these storylines, developing/evolving Zee and Colt’s relationship and characters, and exploring the secondary characters and their stories.
I love the scenes between Colt and Zee as they reluctantly settle into married life and try to make the best of the situation. However, the past is always there between them. A barrier that separates them, though there is a fiery, simmering attraction and the remnants of their childhood connection and friendship longing to be rekindled. Zee and Colt’s relationship is most definitely a slow burn, but it’s worth the wait. Mazurke wonderfully transitions their relationship from animosity, anger, and distrust to reluctant allies to lovers through tense, angsty, sexy, sweet, and intimate interactions and love scenes. Their love scenes are intensely sexual, emotional, and passionate. They help develop, evolve, and reveal their characters and relationship. Colt and Zee are characters who find each other at critical points in their lives and help to save one another. That bond never went away despite everything. I love how they care for each other, supporting, encouraging, and balancing one another. The things that they do now and did for each other in the past out of love are what love is all about.
I look forward to reading any upcoming novels in the series as I am curious about the stories of certain characters in this rich world Mazurke has created. Sweet, steamy, angsty, sexy, emotional, romantic, and fast-paced, [b:Things Left Unsaid|206286398|Things Left Unsaid (7C’s A Pigeon Creek, #1)|G.A.
