A thrilling end to a stunning series. As Good as Dead kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Jackson's writing has such a vivid and emotional texture, I felt I was running through this tense plot right by Pip's side.
The character development of Pip from the beginning to the end of this series I can imagine is quite polarising. I must admit I lost a bit of love for the new Pip and some of the decisions she made, but Jackson crafted such a well-developed, realistic character that no matter what she did I always rooted for her.
This book definitely leans more thriller than mystery and again might be a bit of a shock to readers of this series. Every twist and turn lead to more danger, more shock and a lot more gasping. I was pulled along this ride and towards the end especially, could not tear my eyes away.
Overall, The Good Girls Guide to Murder series is so well plotted and developed, the characters will stick with you and the mysteries themselves are always thrilling. I was pleasantly suprised by the amount of seeds dropped in book one that reappeared in this last installment, a feat of coming full circle.
Pick this series up if you want a fast and thrilling ride!

This book was incredible. I read the first quarter of the book over about a month (because of my schedule, I didnā€™t have much time to read). But once I finally had a day free I picked it up and started reading, and read over 300 pages in one day until the book was finished. I couldnā€™t believe the turn of events that this book tookā€¦..absolutely insane. Just a warning that the ending of the book with have you screaming your head off and possibly crying. The very last page made me audibly gasp. AMAZING. Probably my favorite book in the trilogy.

ā™” Cold Case

Wow, what a roller coaster this book was.  The most tense out of the series for sure.  I got through the first part then quickly worried how everything would come together by the end.  Which Iā€™m super happy with how this ended.  Everything came full circle and it was so satisfying to read even if some parts were anxiety inducing.  Pip really slayed with her last case (pun may or may not be intended).

And yes, this book also has stunning formatting with all the extra details in the design of the book.  I absolutely loved this series and highly recommend it.

This book was extremely hard to get through. I rarely DNF a book - I donā€™t remember the last time I did - but I had to stop with this one for a couple reasons: **SPOILER ALERT**

1) the reveal and in-depth explanation of how Barney (the dog) was murdered - this, to me, is so unnecessary and animal murder is something that completely turns me off from books. I didnā€™t like this in the first book, and the expansion and increased violence of it in this book is even worse.
2) Pip has COMPLETELY changed from who she was. Granted, she has gone through some life-altering things, but becoming a jaded individual who puts herself above others (not caring that thereā€™s an innocent man in prison for DTā€™s murders to save herself from going to jail when she did commit manslaughter as an act of almost-self-defense) is so far from the character she was that itā€™s hard to empathize with her or want to continue to see her path in this story.

Overall, I think there was unnecessary violence that was disturbing and didnā€™t add to the plot, as well as character development that didnā€™t seem true to who the character was at their core.
