4.5 I spent 3/4 of the book absolutely tiring of the main character, but I enjoyed the narrative device used, as well as the great (if predictable) ending.

I spent the whole book looking for someone I cared about and failed. The protagonist was just too annoying and wishy washy for me to connect with and all the supporting characters were pretty one dimensional. There were just too many “why would you do that crazy ish” moments for me.

Still not sure how I feel about the point of view but this was a good book. One point the suspense had me terrified but it kind of went downhill from there. The ending kinda made up for it but not as much as it I think it could have.
Either way I enjoyed the book and the weirdness of it all.

Not what I was expecting. I was hoping for a lot of twists with social commentary on true crime culture; what I got was another addition to the female unreliable narrator trop with a plot that spun in circles. Definitely an airplane or beach book if you still want to read, but there's so much more out there I'd skip it.
Kept a pretty good atmosphere of uneasiness consistently throughout the whole book, which isn't something a lot of mystery thrillers can pull off. The twist was pretty good, but I definitely would've enjoyed it more if I wasn't stuck in a stupid reading slump. I think I'm slowly climbing out of that though, and this book may be the start of me regaining my footing again and get back into my regular reading schedule.
