I hate books with cliffhangers.
This book is Tristan's POV. He is a former soldier, son of a high ranking military official. Tristan gets a job working as a bodyguard for Mark, the owner of a sex club but also a former soldier, former CIA operative. When Tristan starts work, he is questionable about some of the things that he comes into contact with, but he quickly changes his tune by offering himself to Mark. They have a relationship for a bit, then Tristan finds out that Mark is engaged, and has been for 4 years. Tristan breaks up with Mark , but first Mark has Tristan go to Ireland to pick up his fiancee, and they end up having a short relationship, as she and Mark have a policy of not being monogamous until they are married, as it's a marriage of convenience. Then - surprise cliffhanger.
Some of the relationship between Mark and Tristan is a bit much for me, as it is very graphic, but then again, the relationship between Tristan and Isolde is well described as well so .. Anyway I liked the book more than I thought, but am not sure if I'll read the rest of the series as I know the original Tristan and Isolde story is a sad one

I first read this book a while ago, and I like it enough that I’ve re-read it and the other books a couple times. It satisfies a certain craving, though I can understand why it’s not for everyone. My only real issue is that I live in DC, so I get picky about how stories set in the area are presented. There’s a category in my notion reading tracker for “That’s Not How DC Works”. Admittedly, this is an AU-type story, so I can let it slide
