This series if very similar to Simone's New Camelot series but I'm still a fan. Still not sure how I feel about Mark but I LOVE Tristan. He is adorable, hot, and complicated. His interactions with Isolde were some of my favorites!! Their chemistry is perfect.
Salt Kiss is the first book in the Lyonesse series, and it cannot be read as a standalone.
It took me a while to get into this, but once I did, I really enjoyed it.
This told from Tristan’s POV, and he really gets to learn about who he is. And ah, it was a little angsty (for him) and so spicy! But the ending! I need to know what happens next.

I KNEW this would end in a cliffhanger and I still read it anyway so I suppose any emotions I have are my own fault. Anyway super hot, etc etc, everything you would expect from a Sierra Simone book that takes place mostly at a kink club, and emotions and pining. Here’s hoping I’ll remember enough to want to read the sequel! (Also, I think it’s super inconsistent that Mark is a shit fighter in the one fight he gets in and got drunk at his club on the guest night. That’s the part that made the least sense to me but I’m hoping book two explains it was some masterful plotting on his part or something. Like I know fighting is a skill you have to practice but it was all, ooooo Mark is the boogeyman, he killed a bunch of people in insane ways and then Tristan is seeing him fight badly?? What??)

What a great start for this series!
First of all, this takes place at the same universe as New Camelot, and although you don’t need to have read that before, there are spoilers if you haven’t.
Mark Trevena is the owner of a prestigious kink club, Lyonesse, and he hires his nephew in law, Tristan Thomas, to be his new bodyguard. Thomas is a veteran with a bunch of traumas and a tendency to obsession, and falls for his new boss very quickly. When they are deep in a D/s relationship, Tristan finds out Mark is about to get married to Isolde, and of course, this mess will lead to a MMF.

I really did not like the first half, so much whining and talk of Carpathia. The second half completely redeems the book as a whole. Yet, kinda pissed the sequel isn't out yet :\
There is a prequel to read, and while not required I highly suggest it! Also - I mean why wouldn’t you read it.
I think I had forgotten how much I absolutely love Sierra’s writing. The way she tells a story is poetic perfection. She honestly writes her characters that are really complicated and morally grey so well. Her characters are incredibly dimensional and fleshed out. Salt Kiss is a modern contemporary spicy and Kinky AF retelling of Tristan and Isolde with dark romance vibes without really being dark romance.
I am still sitting here after staying up WAY PAST my bedtime to finish this because I just couldn’t stop reading, thinking - What now? What’s next? How do you make it until March for, Honey Cut - Book 2. What is life? It is entirely unfair to the books I read after this one because I cannot stop thinking about Tristian, Isolde, and Mark.

I absolutely lovedddd this book! I was starting to worry as I was more than halfway through and it wasn’t progressing as I was expecting, but this took such a good turn instead and left me begging for more. I loved the dynamics between everyone and also the build up to it. I was honestly a bit skeptical about Tristan and how easily he falls for people but oh myyyy I don’t know how, but it was executed so well. I am so excited for the rest of the story and I will be silently crying in a corner as I wait.
