Tristan is lost after leaving the military until he is hired by Mark, the owner of Lyonesse – DC’s ultra-secret club as his bodyguard. Tristan is drawn to Mark; in ways he shouldn’t want. When he is tasked to guard Mark’s fiancée as she travels home from Ireland on Mark’s yacht. Tristan is jealous to learn the object of his obsession is engaged, but he is set on obeying orders.
Isolde is nothing like Tristan expected, she’s young, quiet and sharp. Tristan finds himself fascinated by her and he learns its mutual. One night they share a searing kiss, and from there, things take a turn.
I loved this book. The first half was my favorite, and while I didn’t enjoy the second half as much, I still really enjoyed it overall. This is my favorite forbidden romance book that I have read this year. It did give me American Queen vibes, but in the best way possible. I really enjoy how Sierra Simone writes her love scenes and this one was a lot of fun with all the kinks brought in. It was done really well with the inclusion of a high-end club like Mark has. I also found it interesting how the business works. It was also fun to find little references to Sierra Simone’s other books! Love those little references. Sierra Simone continues to showcase just how talented she is, and she truly shines in this one.
If you are looking for a smutty MM romance, then check this one out. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you so much to @read_bloom and netgalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

First off, I HIGHLY recommend reading the New Camelot series before reading this if you're at all interested in the world/politics or even the characters of the [b:American Queen|30314992|American Queen (New Camelot Trilogy, #1)|Sierra Simone|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1475848621l/30314992._SY75_.jpg|50802007] trilogy because while Lyonesse is absolutely standalone, it does spoil a MAJOR MAJOR plot point late in the aforementioned trilogy just as a passing thought. Luckily I already knew the spoiler, but yeah.

Wow! Honestly, this book caught me off guard in the beginning; I'm not going to lie, as there was so much going on. But as I continued to read, things became more and more interesting, and I was completely hooked. We see our MC, Tristan, go through a transformative shift as he goes from a soldier to a person who develops emotions and some very strong feelings, in more ways than one.
But the last few chapters threw me for a loop; I was left jaw-dropped and shaken. I can't wait to get the next one in the series!

Wow..I need to get my hormones, I mean feeling under control. First, you MUST read [b:Salt in the Wound|196000009|Salt in the Wound (Lyonesse)|Sierra Simone|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1691591277l/196000009._SY75_.jpg|169600523] before you read this, and I HIGHLY recommend reading The New Camelot Trilogy as well because the little tidbits will make you squeeeee with internal glee because you are "in on it" and know all about the Lyonesse clientele. Second, you should really check out Sierra's Spotify channels for both books because hot damn they make this so immersive. I could not put this book down, and as always, fantastically beautiful writing. I think my highlights in this are extensive because it just spoke so true.
Tristen is a beautiful, beautiful man and soul. He feels deeply and loves deeply and he must be protected AT ALL COSTS! And Mark and Isolde I have a feeling will both be happy to do some protecting. This book is scorching hot, and unlike New Camelot, we get a male version first which I really love! I also love how Sierra Simone's characters are just sexual in nature and it is never about putting specific sexuality labels on her characters or attempting to have them qualify themselves, they just ARE..no labels needed. When you read the story, the spice, romance, angst, pain, love, emotions, it really is just people, and pleasure, and I cannot get this book out of my head. One of my top reads for 2023, absolutely!
I can’t say I was shocked at the end…I sort of wondered the entire time about that…. But come on Rev. Sierra…. Honey Cut in 2024! You dirty thing….. Fantastic, this author is always an automatic purchase for me. So grateful to have been given this ARC from Candi Kane PR!
