I really enjoyed Tristan and being in his POV for this book; he's the most interesting character I think. And though I'm not necessarily feeling hooked on the overarching story quite yet, I will admit to being intrigued with where things are headed. As always Sierra Simone's writing is so beautiful and can pack an emotional punch.
The step uncle? The military? The trauma? A pov from a man? The spy themes? The Catholicism? Please, it’s too much. Pick a struggle
Being the first book of the Lyonesse series, it is a continuation of the Salt in the Wound. If you haven't read Salt in the Wound then when you begin this book, you will have no idea who Isolde is. This series follows Mark Travena, Tristan Thomas, and Isolde Lawrence who are all intermingled in the sexiest of ways. Mark is in an arrangement that he will marry Isolde even though she would prefer to be a Nun, Mark hires Tristan as his bodyguard and after a shootout, sends Tristan to collect Isolde from an estate in Ireland and spend three weeks on a yacht making its way back to New York.
The first half of this book sees Tristan and Mark beginning a working relationship together that quickly turns into a romantic one. We then find Tristan on the yacht with Isolde and they begin a friendship that quickly turns into a romantic relationship. Only for reality hits and they arrive in New York and Mark and Isolde are about to get married. They both have agreed that they are not going to tell Mark, then we find that there were cameras on the ship and Mark knows everything. The end leaves us thinking about what the heck is gonna happen next.

It was okay, but the whole book was pretty much the blurb. I loved her Priest series, but this one didn't hit the same. But the spice was spicing, and the discreet cover is GORGEOUS
This is so classic Sierra Simone its not even funny.
I am so cringed out by so much of it, but also I obviously have to know what happens.
However, I already know what happens because I read the New Camelot series, and this is basically it all over again.
The parallels are too much. It's seriously like a copy and paste which is annoying, but also I guess you know your audience?
This honestly just made me think that this book was too much for me, but I think I would really like to go back and read Priest again- and probably watch Fleabag again. TOTALLY unrelated, I know. but IYKYK.

I agree with other reviews I've seen that say this book can be broken into two halves. The previous novella is where we see Mark and Isolde meet. The first half of this book is Tristan and Mark meeting. Then the second half is Tristan and Isolde. It's messy, it's complex, full of angst, a whole lot of horniness, kink, a love triangle, and cheating. I normally don't even enjoy love triangles and cheating, especially cheating, but holy moly did I eat this up. It was impossible to put down.
The dynamics between these three are so engaging. The lies, the secrets, the way they all love each other in their equally lovely and messed up ways, it's completely addictive. The end had me diving right for Honey Cut.

Holy Shit! This was an amazing MM book and at the 3/4 mark became a MF and damn it I don’t want to wait until June for next book! This book had so many scenes that are drool worthy and made the kitty purr. Fresh out military guy with his baggage becomes boy toy for older millionaire Dom. The candle scene

OH THE PLOT THICKENS.
Mark? Asshole but I kind of like how manipulative he is.
Tristan? Poor guy. Doesn’t have a clue.
Isolde????? IMA STICK BESIDE HER.
This books was good. I don’t remember much happening. All I know is the entire Scooby gang is back together and I cannot wait for chaos to ensue.
