I never know how to rate the books that are 99% smut but yes I will be reading the next one in the series
Okay so I got this book as part of a bookish box subscription. When I started reading it I flipped to the end to see how long it was and it was around 550. A little long for a smut book but ok. So tell me why I just got to page 360ish and the book is over???? The rest is bonus scenes and a prequel novella and I am devastated.
I thought this book was pretty cringe in the beginning and almost DNFd it. The whole soldier, DC, political intrigue thing is really not my style for reading. Once the smut started though it got way more interesting.
My biggest issue is that it seems like two different books. One is about a guy that sleeps with his boss and his bosses fiancé and oh yeah said boss owns a kink club. Great setup for a dirty little romance. But then there’s also the ex soldier, ex CIA, my dad is a general, DC of it all that feels so separate. Like we’re setting up these other mysteries that might be interesting but we never get any progression on that half of the story once the fucking starts. And whatever the prologue bit was about. Don’t get me wrong it ended on a great cliff hanger for the romance half of the book but there was zero follow through on the other half.

Not my typical romance read, but I enjoyed this more than I expected to! Very spicy
Spicy, spicy, spicy. Fantastic characters!! I kind of wish id known it ends on a cliffhanger but!! Really good all the same.
