A solid read. I enjoyed the dynamic between Lana and Seth, but some of the workplace competitiveness felt a little cheesy to me. I really enjoyed learning more and more about Seth and Lana’s past as the story unfolded.

I loved the premise of this book (very How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days vibes) and I was engaged the whole time. I mean I pretty much read the entire thing on my plane ride back from Mexico today, so definitely entertaining. The chemistry between the two main characters was great and I am now on the second chance romance train since I just read this and Love & Other Words. All this being said, this was so clearly written by a geeky millennial (not to offend anyone, it’s simply the truth) and I cringed so hard at the Marvel references and overuse of swear words. I can overlook that though because the rest of it was good.

it was just…okay. there was WAY too many quirky marvel/tumblr 2014 esque jokes in this book and it read like a self insert fan fiction but it was a decent enough story. it just reminded me of a cheesy rom com

Wait this was fun!!! It was cheesy and stupid but not SO stupid where it was boring/too predictable!!!! This gave me classic 90s/00s rom com vibes (like 10 things I hate about you/she’s all that energy) so had a grand ole time

Second chance romance isn’t my favorite trope, but this book was so interesting, I crushed through it in a day. It kept my attention the whole time and I didn’t once feel bored while reading it. The ending was perfect, and I don’t feel like it was rushed. I feel like it built up to the ending and they didn’t just abruptly decide they still loved each other.
I loved the slow burn in this and that it had a bit on enemies to lovers in it. The jealousy was also to die for.
I’d definitely recommend to romance and second chance romance fans.
Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
