Carl Hiaasen is a wonderful storyteller whose environmental plotlines are riveting.

I picked this book up in primary school because I really liked the cover.

I appreciated the environmentalist message but some of the quirkier stuff lost me.

Plus, owls are cute.

3.5 stars.

I was disappointed by this book. I expected so much more because everyone said they loved it so much. I DID NOT like this book. I had to read it for English and I had to suffer through the horrible movie. I didn't see what other people saw in the book, I don't know why but I didn't.
PS I don't recommend seeing the movie either.

Hated it

I'm getting this on CD to listen to in the car with the girls on our next road trip. Love books on CD for road trips.

the plot was straight forword with a bit of small suspense. very small though. story contained the humor in some parts. story wasn't a bad one but neither a very grate one.

excellent Middle Reader level book, complicated story about saving owls in Florida. Realistic portrayal of Junior High School!
