It was fine. The plot is interesting but the writing reads like amateur fan-fiction. The TV adaptation should be good.

I really wanted to love this one but unfortunately for the mature subject matter it seemed a bit like a childrens novel. The action scenes definitely need some fleshing out. I would still try another novel from this author because we all learn & improve with practice

I wanted to like this book so much more. I had high hopes as the authour does such good research for her own podcast but this fell so flat. There was little to no character development. I found holes in the plot and lazy writing. The concept of it being in the Louisiana bayou was so intriguing but again fell flat when it had so much potential. I did like the fact it was written in both POVs so you get both the hunted and the hunter. The Butcher had potential to be a great character. The Wren was boring. I think the only reason I got through it is because it was audiobook and I was listening while doing other stuff. Could have been a DNF if it was the physical book. With all that being said I may listen to the second but only because it’s already released and I’m hoping her writing got better but if I had to wait… forget about it.

Very underwhelming. Although the book had nice short chapters it wasn’t full on page turning excitement.

The writer was very lazy, this story was about a serial killer and they compare Jeremy/Cal to real life serial killers… this frustrates me so much…
You’re a writer!
Make up your own fictitious killers to compare them to!!!
So many pages about real life stories, let’s just copy and paste someone else’s story to fill pages 😡

When I started this book I was excited there was a second book however will not be reading it
