Good enough to recommend, but it's the kind of book that reads like an intro to a series rather than a complete book.

this is my second time reading this and I am still confused by the timeline. the only reason I reread it is because I guess there’s a sequel now, which speaks to the fact that I couldn’t remember anything about this book. anyway I’ll probably read the sequel I guess but this was not good lol

Flashbacks/ real time crimes scenes are hard to figure out if they are present time or previously done. It’s kind of slow and not super rememberable. It just kind of fell flat but the plot twist does semi recover it.
Picked this book up because I like the authors podcast, however her novel... It gets a little redundant. In the first few chapters it's pretty clear the author researchs true crime regularly; she adds little summarize of other serial killers, which to me, slows the pace waaay down.
