4.25! Lots of aspects I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s a wild ride from start to finish, but one I was happy to be on. The characters were extremely interesting (particularly some introduced later on), and the events of the story captivating. I’m certain there are hundreds of different interpretations of the meaning of Kafka & Nakato’s journey, that perhaps smarter people can ponder. At times in the last 20% I became slightly tired with the meandering nature of the story, particularly with Kafka’s chapters. Overall a very fascinating book.

A cat was brutally murdered.

A lot of sex scenes with a 15yo boy, whom a girl he randomly met on a street let him stayed at her apartment (she's 20+) gave him a hand job then told him she wished she was his sister; he also had sex with a 50yo lady who is his mother. Also had multiple sex scenes with women who are asleep.

There's absurdism styles in stories but this one is just fucked up.

I did like the book, even though I was absolutely confused about Kafka Tamura's storyline. Mr. Nakata I enjoyed reading about the most, so I mostly stuck around because of him and Mr. Hoshino.
I'm perplexed
