First book I ever re-read when I was young. It will always hold a special place in my heart for that.

A coworker mentioned this and I picked it up. Cute story!

My friend Lindsey told me about The Ordinary Princess one day and after she lamented about its greatness i figured i would try it. I put it on hold at my library and waited about a week for it. Once I got it I started reading right away. It was a thin book so I figured i could finish it in an hour or so. I did and my life has been better ever since. Princess Amy may be ordinary looking from her beautiful princess sisters but she is only more extrordinary because of it.

Lovely fairytale!

This is such a delightful story! I love how Amy is always happy with who she is. The illustrations are amazing.

A fun, sweet little book that I look forward to reading to my kids when they are a little older.

This was one of the first books I bought from Scholastic when I was a kid. I remember reading it when I was in 3rd grade and had the flu. It was such a lovely story.

Later we moved and I lost the book. About 12 years ago I went looking for it only to find out that it was out of print and the author had passed away. I found a paper back copy on ebay and paid $50 US for it because it was a rare edition. That copy I will cherish forever.

This is not so much a review as it is a memory but I wanted to share.

“Lavender’s blue,
Rosemary’s green,
When I am King
You shall be Queen”

I still think of that poem from time to time. This is one of my early childhood favorites.
