If there's one thing I've come to realize, it's that Glass, Abnett, and Lanning are masters at assembling disparate pieces of story into a semi-cohesive plot. The Team bounces around from mission to mission in a seemingly random pattern that moves forward. And while it probably DOES help to have some background knowledge of the various characters mentioned (they definitely all know each other), you start to grasp their various abilities and powers as things progress. And "honor among thieves?" It takes on a definite meaning within the context of Task Force X, something that comes out strongly in this volume. You start to pull apart the various bonds between the core team members while you gain a dislike for the vigilantes of the DC universe. (And I'm not opposed to that, by the way) At the same time, you start building question after question about Waller and A.R.G.U.S. without getting much in the way of answers. And maybe that's the idea. The writing team does an excellent job of keeping their cards close to the chest, flashing only a glimpse of a grin here and there. You can't help but admire their style and finesse.

"Okay, my bad. I had an off day. But I would only betray you for Mr. J".

Lots more action that the first TP. Will be continuing with the series.

The suicide come together again to attain an asset called Resurrection Man and also kill arch villian Regulus. There is also an issue completely focused on Amanda Waller and how the suicide squad came to be.
I couldn't remember a lot of what happened in volume 1 but this was still pretty enjoyable. Character wise Harley Quinn still somewhat steals the show although I did like King Shark as well. I really detested Deadshot in this issue, although I did enjoy his time with Captain Boomerang which mixed in a bit of humour to proceedings. Amanda Waller is still tough as nails but some back story with a family member saw her looking more human and frail.
The artwork is amazing in this volume although there did seem to be some consistency problems in the second issue with how Amanda Wallers character was drawn.

This volume was pretty exciting. There were some new characters added to "task force x" and lots of adventures to be had. I find the characters interesting enough and it's generally pretty exciting so it makes for a fast read!

Adam Glass's second volume is a definite step back as the need for red herrings outweighs the cohesive story. Waller gets some backstory and it doesn't add to her mythos. She still is a cliche of herself. The "team" can be fun at times but the storyline involving a possible mole did nothing to help the fleshing out of the team. Its still Harley and Deadshot yelling at others. The idea of Basilisk was good but Regulus was a corny 80s GI Joe villain and was too easy to outsmart after so much build up. The art, by many, was decent but not spectacular. Overall, too many moving pieces competing with each other.

a lotta noise w/out much to say but occasionally entertaining nonetheless. I really didn't like the constantly changing art style, although it did work for the final chapter, but the writing is consistently okay enough to keep me going. near the end of this book something happens to a character and the fact I felt nothing tells you a lot. the first volume was maybe a little better just b/c it had more Harley Quinn. dumb but fairly entertaining. doubt I'll read anymore volumes though. I get the point.

#8 Harley is still alive. Deadshot has lost his aim. Savant has left the squad and prison. Or has he? And Black Spider is back (something happened to him at the beginning of the series but I can't remember what. Oh, and one of them is a traitor, a member of Basilisk, tasked with chopping off Amanda Waller's head. Of course she deserves it 100%. I hate her.
#9 ties in with Resurrection Man #9. SS take on RM and no-one really comes out top. Yoyo, who was swallowed by king shark several issues ago, has finally escaped. Waller manages to get one of RMs hands and is keeping it in a jar.
Art is good but very few of the SS characters are sympathetic or likeable, so it is hard to care what happens to them. Invariably you are almost always rooting for the people they are fighting against.
