Amazingly written. This book has changed the way I view my inner thoughts and has encouraged me to really do more work for deeper understanding and acceptance of my mental health and all that comes with it. Thank you to the author for the vulnerability and educating readers on such important topics.

I enjoyed  the psychological information but also the rawness of Stephanie Foo’s storytelling. I feel like a lot of people with complex trauma (diagnosed or not) will relate to these feelings.  This is the first memoir in a while that left me feeling so inspired at the end. Also obsessed with her love story with Joey—it gives me hope that a love where someone sees you so wholely and just accepts you (bones and all, if you will) exists. I could talk about their community-focused wedding forever.

I loved that actual recordings of her session conversations toward the end were included in the audiobook. Will be purchasing a physical copy!

Perfect example of why good memoirs are one of my favorite genres.
This is incredible and I'd highly, highly recommend this book. Stephanie Foo is an incredible writer and storyteller, as well as a very self-aware person with amazing insight. She has done a lot of work in therapy and it shows. I loved listening to her read the audiobook herself.

The lack of nuance in the final part made me retroactively dislike a lot of the book. I assume it’s mostly a me problem.
