It is a story about three women who have been highly wronged in some way or the other. Della, who was always in love with her boss, is convinced that he has used her and led her own in vain all these years and wants to seek revenge against him. Connie finds out her marriage is a sham after 24 years and wants justice for it. Cheryl has been duped by her partner of 10 years and is struggling to regain her feet alone. Their lives intertwine with a common connection - Lady Muck. This book also has a handsome man who makes chocolates for a living (every girl's ideal date), original Van Gogh paintings, the right balance of suspense, humor and life in general.

The ending was a bit weak though with the author trying to tie all the loose ends together in a very obvious way.

Milly Johnson writes incredible slice-of-life stories following women from different backgrounds in different circumstances. I love watching the character development and falling in love with the characters. There is a reason she is one of my all-time favourite authors.

Incredible! Milly Johnson's books always involve some aspect of mystery and intrigue with a sprinkle of the superstitious and magical - which I love!

She is fast becoming one of my favourite authors (in any genre) and this book was such a fun, warm read with themes of greed and betrayal but more distinctly, of strength, renewal and unexpected friendships. I love how the women in this book build each other up rather than tear each other down and how kindness and determination is ultimately rewarded with good fortune and triumph.

Highly recommend!

It took me ages to get around to reading this as the size put me off, but I thoroughly enjoyed it once I started. I couldn't understand why a chic-lit needed over 500 pages, I thought it would have a needlessly up and down romance, but I was wrong; instead there was great plot that really had you rooting for the characters. I also don't usually like it when you switch perspectives in a book, and again this book surprised me as it was so smoothly done giving you glimpses of side plots and the main plot from different view points.

Over all I'm really glad I finally read this book after owning it for nearly 5 years.
